Through this system, rather than amassing gold for promotion, you can gather resources for the Baronship and still be working towards your promotion. As a guardsman, this enables you to get extra credit for leading resource gathering trips, or even just going out with an axe and chopping away at trees.

It is important to remember that you MUST show how much you gathered in any report to gain credit for it!
