Title: The Misadventures Of Gimbly
Post by: Gimbly on September 19, 2018, 01:49:48 pm

Daylight..., finally daylight.  Eyes narrowed to slits....
Fifty feets or more..immaterial.. even at that distance the light hurts his eyes.
Gimbly tries to conceal the eyes with his hands. Crusted blood around his hand wrists.
Signs of Vesperian hospitality. Gimbly sets up an evil grin and stumbles along..
One feet after another ..slowly progressing towards the exit.
Feets, arms, back everything hurts.  He grimaces in pain.
But the physical pain could be endured,... to get caught like a rookie guardman
hurts way more than any torture those scum could have come up with.
He scolded himself a fool. What jumped to his mind to go on a mission like this alone.
Overestimation of his own capabilities, pride, or pure stupidity ? Non-relevant ..
Gimbly pondered.. after the last Grenadier meeting he came up with a vage plan.
Well actually it wasnt a plan at all but only an idea.
He was driven by the thought to take revenge for the assassination attempt on the
Barons life by the personal wench of Escaflowne, the self-proclaimed monarch of Vesper
and cross-breeding of goat and a very ugly racoon.
Gimbly thought he could somehow capture her and drag her to the barracks as a gift for the Baron and the talented hands of the Balliff of Cove.
But the delightul trip to Vesper ended rather quick, shameful and inside a six by six feet
hole with aplenty pesky little creatures. Caged in that pit to slowly rot there
while the war raged between the Baronship and Vesper.
The War… Gimbly winced .. What’s the state of the war ..
Does the barony still stand strong against the Vesperian aggressors ?
Did his fellow Grenadiers do what he unfortunately neglected,
to protect em Baron, while he played seek and hide with a rat horde in a stinking cell ?
And the most important question of all , why in the Avatars name did knock him out,
drag him into that cave and set him free after days or weeks in the Vesperian dungeon ?
He hurried himself along into the bright warm sunlight.
Studying the surrounding Gimbly tried to orient himself what surprisingly wasn’t that
hard at all. He knew the forest the cave ended up into.
Behind him lie the Covetous mountains and in front the Cove/Vesperian borderland.
He shivers as he thinks about writing a report about his misadventure and
with a certain unpleasant feeling he heads back home .…..
