Title: Raising Poisoning Post by: Graem Carcer on June 06, 2008, 07:46:58 pm Folks,
A friend of mine is asking around trying to find out the best way to raise poisoning. From what little I know there are two ways: 1.) Poison weapons over and over 2.) Poison weapons, then use it on enemies which also gets you more gains (As you're using the charges you've put on the weapons) I don't know if there's a faster way to tell him though; whether the type of monster he poisons matters, or what type of poison to use at each level. I've directed him to stratics and UOpowergamers, but they both seem to be out-dated back to Age of Shadows. Anyone know anything to suggest to him? - Carcer Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Raiden Morana on June 07, 2008, 08:22:40 am It's a while back since i trained it but it was basically poison a bag full of daggers, poison a bag full of daggers, poison a bag full of daggers... Then redo!
Hope this helps >_> ;D Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Shadwell on June 07, 2008, 12:02:21 pm Back in the day all you needed was a few fishsteaks and a keg.
Poison steak. Put steak on pile. Take steak from pile. Poison steak. etc. Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Graem Carcer on June 07, 2008, 05:32:27 pm They stopped that now Shadders, apparently it don't let you stack poisoned/unpoisoned food anymore.
The real debate is between poisoning weapons again and again, or poisoning weapons then using that poison on targets, as you can gain from the charges. If you had 50 potions, that can be applied to 50 weapons (50 chances to gain) If you then USED those weapons/charged, (50 x 16 charges per weapon) you're looking at 800 chances to gain, but a lot of effort, bandages and repairs are included in that package. Wish Stratics was kept up-to-date 'cause then I could just direct him there! Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Radek Wilkes on June 07, 2008, 06:28:24 pm *Peeks in*
You need one roll of cheese and a f**k load of poison kegs (dependant on your current skill ofc) Just poison the roll of cheese over and over, worked for me. Still got that cheese somewhere. Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Mr Bloodaxe on June 24, 2008, 12:10:16 pm I'm going for the poison a few weapons and use it approach at the moment, any which way seems to take an age but I am getting there, raising other skills too which I need.
Only thing I am not sure is what level's to change what poison you use? Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Graem Carcer on June 24, 2008, 12:23:25 pm So far as I know, you use regular 'til about 65 then change to greater, changing to deadly at 94
The 'use it' method is probably more effective, as it gives you 16x more chance to get gains as you can gain from poisoning something with your weapons; the only problem of course is it's time consuming, and an absolute ball-ache; but in return you get extra gains and some gold/artifacts along the way. Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Radek Wilkes on June 24, 2008, 04:17:37 pm Going to GM poisoning is alittle pointless imo. You can apply deadly without -any- fail at 80 poisoning, and still have an 80% chance to bump it up to lethal poison.
Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Graem Carcer on June 24, 2008, 04:21:57 pm My friend'll be barking mad when he hears that.
Is it 100% chance to ramp it to lethal at GM? In essence, when you apply a weapon with DP, you are applying Lethal P by default? Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Mr Bloodaxe on June 24, 2008, 05:00:46 pm I only intend to get mine to 70 or 80....can't remember which.
Title: Re: Raising Poisoning Post by: Radek Wilkes on June 24, 2008, 10:12:55 pm Yeah I think it's 100% at gm.
And Lud, 70 isnt really worth it. Greater doesn't do a great deal of damage, 80 is the way to go. |
