Title: Origional Values and Purpose of the Guard Post by: Marcus Kobra on July 21, 2008, 08:40:52 am I stumbled today upon a letter by Former Commander Gregor Eason.
It was written to express what the origional Militia, Our predecesors, where to stand for and what their duties were. We the Army of Cove, embrace all of these things and as a Proffesional Army we should exemplifiy them! Purpose Of Cove Militia * To safeguard the town of Cove, its Baron, its people, and its surrounding lands. * To defend and protect the interests of the Baronship Council. * To serve and honor the virtues of the Church. * To act with the greatest discipline and professionalism, honed through extensive and rigirous training. Militia Duties - Getting The Job Done * Regularly patrolling Cove and its surrounding lands. * Frequently setting up sentry points on the gates entering the town. * Travelling across land and overseas to do battle with armies and guilds that show aggression toward Baronship interests. Militia Training * Foot Drill - Developing reaction to order, discipline, and confidence. * Combat Training - Developing combat fighting prowess, strength, teamwork, and healing ability. * Training Exercises - Structured scenarios placing guardsmen in near real situations. * Hunts - Further developing combat prowess and teamwork. And also ridding Britannia of greater evil! Militia Values * Act with the utmost professionalism and zeal. * Obey orders without question, taking action immediately. * Practive and honor the virtues of the Avatari faith regularly. * Offer your life in service of Cove, and defend its glory at all costs! These make up the core ethos of the Cove Militia. Stand proud, and walk tall; for ye serve in what I hope shall become one of the finest military organisations ever to tread the realm of Sosaria. Commander Eason, Cove Militia & Baronship Council All Guardsmen should take this to heart! V/r, Marcus Kobra, Watchman, Army of Cove Title: Re: Origional Values and Purpose of the Guard Post by: Raiden Morana on July 21, 2008, 08:49:34 am Indeed.
Every guardsman is expected to do his or her duty. Former Commander Eason knew what he was talking about... Until he became old and slightly senile that is... *coughs* There's borders to be patrolled, ogres and trolls to slay, undead to uhmm... kill? What are ye dallyin' around here fer? Hup hup! *signed* Raiden, Grenadier Captain. Title: Re: Origional Values and Purpose of the Guard Post by: Takeamada on July 21, 2008, 01:51:09 pm What a great find Marcus!!!
