Title: A return Post by: Vince Valentine on August 05, 2008, 07:20:46 am Vince lay motionless, staring up at the ceiling of the barracks. He was desperately tired, yet couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard he tried. Heck, how could he? Back in Cove after so long, he'd been through so much. His battered body ached from head to toe, and he could hardly keep any food down.
His mind raced as he stared, so many things had changed. War had reared it's ugly head once more, and with the town he loved under attack once again, he wondered if this wasn't a bad omen. Then there was the army itself. Many new faces, and many old ones. Would they welcome him back, would they reject him, who knew? Then there was his wife, kelly. He'd missed her so much, and now, as he returns, she's away on leave. Would she be angry, relieved? Had she met someone else? All of these questions needed answering, but Vince could fight no more.
