Title: Cove Freedom Festival: Guardsman Training
Post by: Raiden Morana on October 20, 2008, 06:04:02 pm
Attended by:

Tiberius, Senior Guardsman (leading)
Raiden, Commander (leading)

Hoagie, Sergeant.
Gregor Eason, Senior Guardsman (legged it as soon as we started)
Kendall Richter, Regular Grenadier
Takeamada, Regular Grenadier
Kas Valentine, Regular Guardsman
Nicholi, Regular Guardsman
Delferium, Junior Guardsman
Celuvian Haap, Watchman
Torrak Kerres, Watchman
Eddy, Guardsman Recruit

Just as the baron handed over the line up to me following the parade did Senior Guardsman Tiberius Kane report in to put us through our paces in a good old fashioned Covian training session. This seemed to coincide with former Commander Eason making a break for the city gates. For a man of advancing years he can still shift!

Tibby put us through a gruelling routine of physical exercise and a little work on orders before handing things over to me just as our Vesperian neighbours arrived to join in the ermmm... Fun.

Nicely warmed up we made our way to the Covian fields for a little combat training. To get us in the mood we started with a free for all. Many of our Vesperian guests fell early and the contest boiled down to three standing Covians, myself Watchman Haap and Recruit Eddy.

It seemed that the recruit had the same idea as me... Smash the Watchman. But Haap proved to be a slippery opponent indeed and even with two of us chasing him down it took a while to knock him from his feet leaving the recruit and myself to battle it out to see who would be the victor.

Recruit Eddy decided to bravely stand toe to toe with me. Brave but ill advised perhaps as I was soon able to overcome his defences and knock him into the dirt.

Vesper's Captain Escaflowne then led the gathered warriors through a few battle games as I was called away to the bar see to some urgent business.
