Title: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Aelthas on May 08, 2005, 01:56:55 pm The BoC village (does it have a name?) consists of numerous houses including the barracks, church, player houses, brewery and so forth. However to me it does not feel like a village. There is no sense of unity amongst the individual buildings except for the same sign hanger outside every building. It feels like a collection of houses. No character or atmosphere overall. Indeed the individual buildings have their own atmosphere such as the church and barracks but overall as a village there is not since the next building is so radically different to the next in terms of its theme (walls used etc). Perhaps it would be a good idea to have all buildings have the same wall styles used? A sort of recurring theme throughout.
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Shadwell on May 08, 2005, 01:58:14 pm There are plans to make the church and barracks look a little more united (For example same stone usage) But all of this is still in the starters phase.
Also the village has a name: Baronship Household. Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Gregor Eason on May 08, 2005, 01:58:41 pm Yeh, Baronship Household it is. Part of Cove.
But yeh, I agree. There should be unity *nods* Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Grief Dryfh Gry on May 08, 2005, 04:18:37 pm Indeed. We need to start changing so that all of our buildings look the same. I'd recommend making them all like the barracks.
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Gregor Eason on May 08, 2005, 06:48:14 pm Well, at the same time you want a bit of flair and originality to each building. But... there needs to be like a background theme that you can instantly recognise as Covian.
*rubs chin* Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Aelthas on May 08, 2005, 07:00:28 pm So what buildings are BoC owned? The barracks, church, brewery, my house...who else has a house in the BoC area?

Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Calico on May 09, 2005, 04:40:49 am My house, it is a bit out of the way down by the pond, but it'd be no problem to over haul it a bit and make it heavy dark stone... still need to do some thing with that garden.
That stone is suprisingly versital, you can get a lot of diffrent looks out of it. Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Dellamona on May 09, 2005, 10:19:18 am I think the buildings should look different depending what state of money you earn *nods*
My house is by minoc moongate but pfft! Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Coma Black on May 09, 2005, 12:16:50 pm My Home is on the coast between Cove and Vesper, but I can change the stonework if you want.
If a house does come up near the actual village thats of fair size please let me know. Thanks Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Calico on May 09, 2005, 04:40:26 pm One fell just a bit down the coast from Aelthas's I think it's like 7x9 or 8x10ish in size... it's still really close to Cove, and not in the middle of the house glom. If I didn't have one all ready I'd take it :)
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Aelthas on May 09, 2005, 05:45:11 pm A 9x7 will fit there maximum.
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Khaelieth on May 10, 2005, 12:33:59 pm I've got a treehouse (wannabe one at least ;D), but it's not very close. Been thinking of remodelling it anyway
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: userjosh5368 on May 10, 2005, 09:41:26 pm well not all house should be the same or they look sort of boring same walls and stuff
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Aelthas on May 10, 2005, 10:25:30 pm Yes they should have their individual character. But there should be some sort of recurring theme and unity.
Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Calico on May 11, 2005, 12:08:02 am Go up and look at Tel'Mar, they use the same stone but put elven flair into it and their buildings are any thing but boring.
Cove would tend to be more boxy than them's folk... just 'cause. Title: Re: The BoC 'village'. Post by: Ginger on May 16, 2005, 08:06:47 am I agree of getting buildings together with the same type of wall. I have two house, The Tavern and a small one next to the Covian wall, Both are these have wooden walls like every single house in Cove. I would say use the wooden type of wall combined with stone if ye like for the barracks or church. The wooden type might not be too exciting but it does add to the theme of Cove itself. Also i am all for changing the name of "The Baronship household" because it does say militia welcome but doesnt really unite as a village for peasants. Just my idea
