Title: The Company ~ Ideas Thread
Post by: Raiden Morana on December 11, 2008, 09:52:12 am
Have an idea or concept you'd like to see implemented within The Company?

This is the thread to post it in. All ideas will be considered and hopefully some will be implemented.

Here's one to get us started.

Custom Titles.

Custom titles denoting your character's skills whether real or roleplayed.

If energy dances from your character's fingertips perhaps the title Company Arcanist might be for you or if you walk in the shadows something along the lines of Company Pathfinder? You may even want to become the Company Medic and tend to your comrades wounds during and after battles, hunts and punishment.

These titles don't mean you are part of a "squad", nor are they "special character applications" as such, but they may add a little diversity and fun to your gameplay.

These titles would be available to anyone of Mercenary rank or above and your character's rank would be kept and requirements to be fulfilled etc. Perhaps making a note of your rank in the biography available on your character's paperdoll so that people can still "see" the badge on your sash even if you are known as a Company Arcanist.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Fire away!

Wondering on the Explo pots and Poisons. I figure with the loss of our specialty companies, there are no specialists out there So the structure has changed. I figure, we are mercs and mercs get the job done, by blade, bolt, bomb, or poison.
I'm figuring some training on the making and use of explosive potions and poisoning blades. After these classes have been fullfilled (held on request) a player can be noted as a capable demolitionist/ Assassin. As always the right to use poison would be dictated by a characters %Skill, as seen on their MyUO page.

I can think of no requirment for bombs, unless we require alchemy (the skill that makes them effective)  "we don't need a million and one bombadiers" Yes yes I know, but who uses bombs as their main weapon? I'd pefer it for crowd control/pre-imptivestrikes/and to drop on people from above when you lack ranged weapons.(As I have seen the Cocidious do)

Note: Thanks Hoags for your inputs on the subject. ;)
Note: The term people includes creatures.

This topic is under discussion in Command and an answer will be made available asap.

In the meantime the only people who can use these "skills" are those who were able to previously.

i.e. Ex-Grenadiers and ex-Scouts.

Has that now changed, since the tasks for Poison have been introduced?

To use poisoning mercs must either learn the skill IC from a current poisoner through a "course" or complete the task to gain a poisoning licence.
