Hearing of increased Orc attacks in the Glenmores, I gathered up a handful of men who were relaxing in the Barracks, and established a small forward base in the valley opposite the Orc Fort. I dispatched some of the men to recon the fort, while the rest of us foraged for food. Using the darkness to our advantage, we were able to establish our position well before dawn. When the scouting party returned, they revealed that the Orcs seem to sleep in large, hay-strewn communal sleeping areas.

As the sun rose, we settled in for a long day of watching and waiting. At one point, a large party of orcs assaulted our position, ruining the remainder of our breakfast. After this, we decided to hold a short training in preparation for the planned raid. As usual, everyone jumped me during the free-for-all at once. We went over Battle Commands, Sounding Off to help coordinate attacks in the dark, and paired combat.

It still wasnt quite the right time to attack, though, so we scraped together a bit more food and sat around while Sarge told a story. It was rubbish.

Reeling from the sheer boringness of Sarge's terrible, anti-Keres story, we decided it was time to attack!

We smashed through the outer defenses with relative ease, overruning and destroying the Orcish vanguard, then swarmed over their second layer. We moved like a well oiled...horse...and cleared each room before cutting a bloody swathe as we withdrew.

Hmmm... A fine raid I would say!

However Torrak, the clue was in the codename fer this mission... 'Midnight!' Nay bloody noon, or dawn or bloody dusk! Midnight! *mutters*

I think we'll get yer on graveyard shift so ye can tell the difference between night and day eh!?
