Title: Report: Merc Task - Exploring Dragon Isle
Post by: Perrin on February 12, 2009, 01:55:17 am
Leading:
Perrin

Attending:
Torrak Keres
Kas Valentine
Hoagie

Loot:
Keres: donated 500
Kas: donated 500
Hoagie: donated 500

Total for the Coffers: 2800

With a helping hand from Kas, we quickly arrived in Jhelom. Our first task was securing a boat for transport. The locals were kind enough to oblige us and thus we were on our way.

Sailing due East we came across two islands, neither of which was our destination. With sharp eyes, we scoured the area for any Kaldorian sign. The inhabitants of these two islands consisted mostly of birds and snakes, but we did stumble across a pair of deranged hermits. After sorting that grim business, we doubled back to Jhelom and headed North.

We made landfall at Dragon Isle near a small house fort. No one answered our calls, so after some deliberation we decided that we couldn't leave a potential threat at our backs. Having torched the potential menace, we proceeded along the coast. We soon arrived at the step of a large Avatarian shrine and stopped to give a prayer or two. Trudging a good distance more around the island, we finally found what we were looking for. The vine covered ruins were abandoned and nothing was left except some straw mats and an old cauldron that smelled of turnips. Leaving nothing to chance, we set fire to whatever would burn.

With our primary goal accomplished, we sailed North for the mainland and came ashore in a rather swampy area. Feeling adventurous, we slogged onwards into the mire. It wasn't long before we ran into groups of stinking Ratmen and Savages! Wasting no time, we set about laying waste to them and their huts. The loot was slim, but felling savages is reward enough! As an extra bonus, we were treated to an impression of Escaflowne by Keres!

After arriving home in Cove we began to count our haul when we were jumped by brigands! Nothing is more fearsome than a Covian defending his share however, and in short order all the knaves lay belly up.

No loss of Covian life and gold for the coffers! A successful trip I'd say!

Aye, a grand expedition. Unfortunate you found no loot of value. I had hoped we might unearth some Kaldorian relics. . .  Dragon Isle stands secure, we'll nay hve to worry about Kaldorians there again.

*Eyes another task*

Prehaps someone shall lead that other expedition and silence any fears of Kaldorian uprising ever again. . .

Good work lads, if its nay Covian, or married to one. . . or atleast sleeping with a covian. . . burn it!
