Title: Report: Further to Haven Hamperings (possible hiring)
Post by: Aliryl on March 07, 2009, 06:41:34 pm
After copying out the pamphlet I decided to head to Haven myself to see if I could speak to this man in person.  It seemed I arrived in good time as not long into our conversation a Yew Besieger turned up and began to throw his weight around, even to the point of threatening the old man.

He asked me what the rate would be to hire the company but I said I was not in a position to say and would inform my superiors as soon as I could.

One of Haven's local residents had a small ditty for the amusement of others against Yew.  The Besieger took great offense to this though and set fire to the main squire with one of his bombs, trying to injure innocent animals which he called vermin.

The Besieger also seemed to believe that Yew held occupation of Haven despite anything being signed.   As I was heading back to write this some more recruits have headed into Haven to offer their support to the citizens there.

Attended by:

Raiden, Commander.
Aliryl, Mercenary Recruit.

Having listened to recruit Aliryl's report of her visit to New Haven and having read a copy of the pamphlet calling for aid I decided we should head there with great haste to try and make contact with the locals and offer The Company's support against the Loyalist oppressors.

I laid several recruitment banners while Aliryl looked around the town for her contact or any other Havenites fed up with the bullying tactics of the Yewish Militia. Unfortunately none could be found so we shared a drink at the tavern in hope that those wishing to hire The Company would happen by but alas it wasn't to be.

Just as we were about to leave New Haven several mercs led by Keres entered the town so I lined them up to perform a recruitment parade. Thankfully nay many folk were around to witness their bloody incompetence with the most basic of orders. I made the buggers run three laps of the Haven bank shouting "For Cove!" at the top of their lungs as punishment. Slack beggars.

Even though we were unable to contact the locals willing to stand up against the Yewish bullies, I think The Company may well be seeing plenty of the town in the coming weeks.

This evening having missed the company heading off with Dr Jones I decided to head to Haven and see how the situation holds there.   It appears that Yew's tactics have become increasingly worse, not content to leave oversized banners and bully the local residents, they have now resorted to bringing in people to use as an example.  I spoke with one of the Trinsic Paladin's who had witnessed the event, he told me of how they beat these unarmed innocent people to get other's to join the Guardsmen or suffer the same treatment.

One of the local women told me of how they'd said the Mayor of Haven had asked them to come in against the Covian and that the Mayor could not of said anything of the sort as she has hardly spoken a word to anyone recently.  She is upset still at the loss of her family in Old Haven and never comes out of her office.

I also gave mister Smithson details to contact me so he can make an appointment for a meeting with Commander Morana.
