Title: Medical Log: 17 March, 2009 Post by: Marcus Kobra on March 18, 2009, 02:28:23 pm Subject Name: Railen of Swaggers.
Estimated Age: Early twenties. Height: Between 5' and 5'5" Estimate. Weight: Unknown Estimate 90 lbs. Initial Condition: Severe/Life Threatening Current condition: Stable. Official Statement and Record of Treatment: Overview: Miss Railen was discovered in a semi lucid state within the Goblin. Her injuries are consistent with that of assault. Subject has numerous lacerations including most severely one five inch long angular gash on her upper right arm just above the elbow. Wound had been sealed but not tended. Wound is classified as life threatening. Puncture wounds to upper and lower eyelids of one eye. Punctures appear to be mildly infected. Wound is classified as moderate/infectious. Pinkie of right hand, Crushed. The wound is so absolute that total repair is unlikely. Subject displays numerous other bruises and trauma. None of which appear life threatening. Specific Treatment: Gash to upper right arm: Though the wound has obviously been sealed it had not been treated. The wound appears as though someone attempted to hack or saw a large portion of skin and muscular tissue from her arm. Damage to muscular tissue deep and severe. Wound required reopening, infection preventive measures, and 35 stitches to seal. Infection is likely without further treatment. If infection occurs amputation shall be required. Estimated maximum recovery: 50% Range of motion. 60% of normal Strength. Subject likely to be crippled for life. Punctures to Eyelid: Already obviously infected, may require lancing in future treatment. Applied infection preventive measures and bandaged. Moderate chance infection may spread. Infection may lead to loss of vision. Crushed Right Pinkie: Finger is crushed. The wound is beyond any known medicine to heal. Damage is so total and so severe that splinting shall only allow the digit to heal into a rigid formation. Suggest a formed splinting to heal the finger into a usable position. Amputation likely in the future to remove useless digit. Splints are in place. Wound is sever but not life threatening. Recover estimate: Immobile, Amputation likely. Subjects overall health is stable. Mental trauma evident, subject matter is beyond my skill to treat. Insanity including delusions, nightmares, and sleeplessness likely. Will attempt suppression via Nightshade and Mandragora. Subject has been given remedy of: 5 Grams Nightshade. (Sedative/Narcotic) 3 Grams Garlic. (Infectious Ward) 1 Gram Ginseng. (For strength and to promote mental health) Subject is to take with one glass water no less than three times daily. Not to exceed Five doses. Warning: Do NOT exceed 25 Grams Nightshade per day as this may result in sudden user DEATH by overdose. *Signed and Sealed with a Medical Stamp* Marcus Kobra, Company Medic, Baronship of Cove Title: Re: Medical Log: 17 March, 2009 Post by: Raiden Morana on March 18, 2009, 03:38:43 pm Raiden burst through the hospital doors.
"Where is she!? Where is she!? Railen! Railen!" Several orderlies stepped forth to restrain the Commander. "Who did this!? Who the devil is in charge here!?" Kobra, the Company's medic turned to look up from the patient's bed. "We're doing all we can Sir." Raiden strained against the grip of the orderlies until a healer stood before him. "She will be well cared for Commander." Shrugging off the orderlies, his rage stayed by the healers soft words, Raiden plucked a full purse from his belt and handed it to the healer. "The best... Fer her... And everyone else in here." The Commander stalked his way from the hospital to the orchard in Cove. He sagged against an apple tree and peered up at the watchtower atop the craggy rocks... And sobbed silently. Title: Letter to Raiden Post by: Leander on March 18, 2009, 06:37:13 pm *A missive delivered to the Commander's desk by carrier sparrow.*
Commander, It is with my deepest sympathy and regret that I inform ye Pippa Reed and I hath discovered your fiancée Railen huddled inside the Goblin last eve. Seemingly addressing no one in particular, she related to the fireplace, a discourse on all things strange and monstrous. In addition to the wounds covering her battered body, it would seem that, against her will, she was forced to commit acts of cannibalism. She was covered in, for lack of a better term, “bits of things” that once belonged to other humans. A vague note fell from her clothing which I hath read and attached to this letter. It reads “Never touch my sister again.” I know nay what sense to make of this. I stood guard at the door while Pippa washed the encrusted sanguine and fleshy gore off of Railen's body upstairs. She would nay allow us to assist or carry her. Our cries of help were soon answered by more Covians entering the goblin. She continued to tremble hysterically, babbling on about Souls... I hath nay seen one so deeply hurt. Should her physical injuries be mended, I fear the healing of the mind will be an even more difficult task. Her thoughts seem to be damaged and askew. She rattled on about Guardian, Undead, and what I must assume from the physical description, are Drow. None of us were able to successfully approach her, even Marcus needed to reaffirm his medical expertise several times, and eventually had to put her under in order to treat her. She is in desperate need of a Priest. Once she was placed in the Cove hospital, I could nay bear to watch any longer. I took my leave to pen ye this letter posthaste. I hope it finds ye well. *Signed simply* Leander Le Blanc, Mercenary Recruit (http://i44.tinypic.com/11tajjs.png) Post Script: I hath attached a list of those who bore witness to this most unfortunate discovery so that they are available for your interrogation and questioning should the need arise.
