After hearing reports that there was some trouble up along the border with Altmere, I assembled the men and we set out to reinforce the border outpost. When we arrived, I had our archers and mages take up ambush positions while I took the melee fighters North along the road as an escort.

What we found was a medium-sized Vesperian force facing off against a large force of Knights Templar, Skara Braeans, and Yewish. Realizing the Yewish were likely to attack us as soon as the Vesperians were dead, I took Captain Bedford aside and we hastily arranged a temporary alliance.

As we were finalizing our agreement, the Yewish took it upon themselves to jump us. After a few minutes of chaos and bloodshed, the hastily reforged Northern Alliance was forced back to the Altmere Outpost.

Rightly fearing a second Loyalist offensive, we quickly reformed, redistributed our forces, and took up positions; Melee Fighters at the entrances, Archers in the woods across the street, and mages on the rooftop. The Loyalist assault hit us like a hammer, but we held our ground and threw them back several times, only for them to rally and drive us back as well. Eventually the fighting began to die down, with only a few fighters left uninjured on either side.

However, the Loyalists had won - barely - and we were forced to withdraw from the area to avoid total destruction. The Loyalists had won the day, but not by much.

I politely informed Captain Bedford that if Cove loses any more land as a result of aiding Vesper, I would personally find and kill him.

Well done men!

I hear the Company acquitted itself admirably in the face of overwhelming odds.

'Tis the Covian way!

A fine battle indeed but I feel Cove are going to get stuck in the middle of two armies, we nay be a army anymore. I wonder what we have in store for us.
