Title: Local Bear Problem

Guardsmen in attendance:
Kado-Gael, Mercenary

It's evident that pandas are a huge, deadly and indestructible and a MAJOR threat to Cove. But what most don't know is how close to a panda invasion we really are! Bears are all over the place, roaming about in Altmere, loitering in the woods, eating our crops! And breeding!

To combat this a patrol was held to rid Covetown and the Cove Shire of bears.

We started by heading to town. I checked the homes and Kado check the walls, lighthouse and farmer fields. Local healers in town state several bear victims have turned up in the last few days. Perhaps, defensive mothers protecting their young!? What's worse is what Kado uncovered..  Two bears in the fields, eating crops. That's right. All the wildlife of the woods isn't enough, these creatures are now taking our food! We dispatched them and moved into the woods.

A patrol through the woods to Altmere and back turned out successful.  Several deadly bears were spotted in the vicinity of a waterin' hole, a likely place for them. After that we followed the road to Altmere, there were not nearly as many bears but there was an orc fort. It's nestled at the foot of the mountains. We smashed it up a bit and moved on. Altmere was relatively clear so we returned home.

Panda invasions have been a terrifying prospect since I was a child, though thankfully none have actually come to pass.

However I believe the bears you encountered have probably been drugged and trained by the Vesperians as a new covert weapon against Cove.

I also reckon that a closer inspection of the bears ye saw breeding may have proved beyond doubt that Chancellor Escaflowne is indeed the man behind this.
