Title: Vesper's Chancellor Visits Cove
Post by: Raiden Morana on April 27, 2009, 01:16:06 pm
[This is an excerpt from Raiden's journal and therefore his views and opinions. The information below is OOC information to anyone not present at the meeting.]

I received word that Chancellor Escaflowne was outside wanting ter speak with me. I wanted a word with him too so I went out to greet him and told him in no uncertain terms that if I found out that he had anything to do with Railen's abduction and torture that I would kill him.

I didn't really believe the information telling of his involvement but these days I'd nay sooner trust the word of a Vesperian than I would that of a Drow.

However Escaflowne made a counter claim about one of his militiawomen being kidnapped and tortured by my order so it's obvious that the Drow are causing their mischief nay matter how poorly conceived it may be. Perhaps we should blow them into the abyss afterall.

With the pleasantries exchanged we headed to the Baron's office along with Sergeant Keres so that Escaflowne could say his piece. It turned out that the Chancellor had come to swallow his pride along with a chunk of humble pie as he apologised for the behaviour of the Vesper militia and himself at the recent meeting and spoke of reforging the Northern Alliance.

It seems he has thought better of making an enemy out of Cove and now seeks our friendship. It also turns out that he seeks 'free' Minoc once more claiming that Loyalist forces still occupy the town and control the region even though they have supposedly left Minoc to govern itself.

Raven's recent reports seem to confirm this, but they also confirm that Vesper took an invading force into Minoc and nay just a scouting party as Escaflowne had claimed. Escaflowne claims he wants Minoc to be free once more, not to annex it as Vesper has tried in the past, he wants the region to be part of a free north, which is exactly what it was until Vesper overran it last time bringing the King's forces back to our door.

He also spoke of aiding us in retaking the Altmere in exchange for our comradeship. Though I think he is more concerned with pushing the Loyalists back to the western crossroads rather than reclaiming Covian land.

I will consult with the Baron but it appears that nay fer the first time Covian blood will be spilled in Minoc and Altmere.
