Title: [PR] Grand Recruitment Campaign
Post by: Raiden Morana on July 07, 2009, 01:25:31 pm
Grand Recruitment Campaign.

The threat to the Baronship has never been as great as now. The Vesperians have dissolved our Northern Alliance and seek conflict at every opportuntiy despite the supposed ceasefire.

Casca's henchmen terrorise the lands still and although we are currently enjoying peace with Yew, who knows how long it will last. The ranks of our proud army must be bolstered for the challenges ahead.

To this end Army Command has decided to institute a Grand Recruitment Campaign.

If we are to defend our borders and press Covian concerns elsewhere... If we are to see the Grenadiers, Scouts and Arcanists thrive once more... If the Dragoons and Covian Navy are to see the light of day once again, then my fellow Covians, we must recruit!

----------

If these aren't reasons enough for you to get out there and redouble your recruiting efforts, Command has also sanctioned the following incentives to help you get out there and get recruiting:

2 week role of "Standard Bearer" with specialist uniform to match.
Weapon/tool engraved with the message of your choice subject to Command approval.
Weapon/tool of your choice crafted and dyed Shadow or Beserker Red.
Order Of Recruitment medal award.
Guardsman Duty awards.
Promotional Requirement awards.
Cash prizes up to 1 million in gold.
Free civilian upgrade applicable to rank.
Balanced suits of armour.
Up to a 6th Year Vet Reward
Plus many minor prizes.

----------

Everyone who enters and earns at least 50 credits will be eligible for a prize. Those earning the most credits will get the first pick from the prize pool.

Credits can be earned as follows:

Standard 2x2 recruitment banner complete with book and torch (runes too if possible) placed at populated areas such as banks, moongates, dungeons or shops - 3 credits.
Larger 4x4 recruitment banner complete with book and torch (runes too if possible) placed at populated areas such as banks, moongates, dungeons or shops - 4 credits.
Large 8x8 recruitment banner complete with book and torch (runes too if possible) placed at populated areas such as banks, moongates, dungeons or shops - 6 credits.
Larger more creative banners with multiple books - 10-20 credits.
Man a solo recruitment stall in New Haven, Luna or similarly populated area for at least 20 minutes - 10 credits.
Host a recruitment stall or parade with other Covians in New Haven or Luna for at least 30 minutes - 20 credits.
Personally recruit a new member (not alternative characters) - 25 credits.
Convince a former player to return to BoC for at least 2 weeks - 25 credits.
Come up with and implement a new creative way to bring recruits into Cove - 20-50 credits.
Advertise BoC in a creative, courteous, professional and appropriate manner on RP portals - 15 credits.
Advertise BoC on social networking sites (Facebook, Bebo, Twitter, MySpace etc.) in a creative, courteous, professional and appropriate manner - 20 credits.
Miscellaneous recruitment activities will be awarded credits at the discretion of the Command team.

It's impossible to list every recruitment activity but if you have done something not on the list then contact a member of Command to have your credits awarded.

Please post reports of IC recruitment activities in the relevant places. Banners in the Grand Banner Campaign/Civilian Grand Banner Campaign Threads and recruitment stalls and parades etc. in the In Character Board/Citizen Board.

All evidence of OOC recruitment activities is to be posted below.

The Grand Recruitment Campaign will run from Friday 10th July to Friday 31st July 2009.

Recruitment efforts already set as parts of trials or Guardsman Duties will not be counted as part of this competition. However banners will count towards your general requirements/earn you shillings if you are a civilian, as will recruitment stalls.

If you have any questions please forward them to a member of Command.

Good luck!

Raiden, Commander.

I've been promoting us on Twitter. Do a search for #baronshipofcove and you will see my posts. Alternatively click this link (https://twitter.com/#search?q=%23baronshipofcove).

Click here to view my profile and see updates (https://twitter.com/Faden_Wildheart), no registration necessary.

If everyone posts whats going on in real time using the tag #baronshipofcove and #uo or #ultima online it may bring in more people to our site or at least look for us. More development is needed but this is a start :)

Penny has also created a profile which can be used for our main PR machine. It looks pretty however I will let her post the link etc when shes ready :)

I promote major events in the Europa roleplayers section of UOForums as well as UO Stratics and F4G.

I also post the Covetowne Gazette news articles on all these forums too to increase awareness of BoC. ;)
