Welcome to Cove

I arrived at the tavern just as Buttons was inspecting his wound peppered torso. Kobra was tending to his wounds as Railen beckoned me to the Goblin doorway where a poorly concealed trap had been placed under a brazier. Just as I went to shield her behind me to make a visual inspection of the device we heard the report of bomb blast outside.

Kobra was laid spreadeagled on the grass, blood flowing from his nose and ears and Buttons was looking somewhat worse for wear for being caught up in a second blast. Darek arrived having heard the incident and while a recruit helped Railen move Kobra and Buttons to the hospital Darek and I set about tackling the remaining trap.

Heavily armoured as we were and also sporting our Grenadier heater shields I decided the best course of action would be to detonate the device whilst smothering the blast with our shields, thus minimising the damage. It was too risky a looking thing to try and disarm. Darek and I placed a couple of short fused charges atop the trap and braced ourselves behind our shields against the dull thud of the explosion.


The device had been made safe at the expense of our now ragged looking heater shields and so we entered the tavern to sweep it for any further threats. All was clear, with nothing to report other than the foul stench coming from the Goblin's shitter, which I made Darek check alone. Hoh.

We then made our way to the hospital to check on the casualties. Buttons was throwing his weight around with a recruit or two so he was obviously getting over his wounds, however Kobra was in pretty bad shape. Railen had done enough to make him comfortable but his wounds were way beyond her knowledge. Darek and I carried him into town to the healers. They gave him a slightly better than evens chance of survivng, which he better bloody do... He's our only battlefield medic.

The Baron's Own Grenadiers once again saved the day with Buttons allegedly smothering the first blast with his beard and belly, whilst Milako and myself detonated the trap in the tavern doorway safely. Whoever is behind these atrocities has a lot ter answer fer.

I took the liberty of making people more aware by placing posters around Cove, Commander, more so for the safety and wellfare of citizens and guardsmen alike. I do not wish to see my barmaids killed in a blast they never expected, death taking them in a frenzy of blood and nails.

I also hope you might be able to talk to me of the events occuring, as I set out to find out more about the reasons behind the attacks. I also hope I will be able to speak to your Scout leader as she will be more then handy in the days to come.
