Title: Lucas Drachen, Act 1 Post by: Lucas Drachen on February 16, 2010, 08:57:07 pm The Thieves guild was all a chatter about their newest Tailour...A man said to be in quite well with Nujelm's Guild Mistress. Whenever new blood came into Nujelm many of the guildmembers liked to test them to see how true their credentials were. Tailours however were not given such a test, Chosen for their lack of Morales and inexplicable ability to kill without emotion...they were the deadliest assassins in Nujelm. To test one in combat was surely a death sentence......
Lucas arrived in Nujelm three years earlier. Trained in The Britain Branch of The Thieves guild he was one of their top hitmen. During his time there he made quite an impression on a woman named Cordelia...Whom he soon learned was The Guild Mistress of The Thieves Guild's Nujelm branch. Taking him under her wing Cordelia claimed Lucas as hers and ferried him off to Nujelm to serve under her. He wasn't afraid to kill...his hand never hesitated on the trigger of his crossbow...What was another life to him but another day on the job..... Cordelia started him out on small contracts. Unpaid Debts and people with loose lips. Each target fell and each one further cemented Lucas' foothold within The Guild. Eventually he was given his task to prove himself worthy of becoming a Tailour. His target was a noble, A pompous man attempting to reform Nujelm and bring it's people to rise up against the criminal element plaguing it... One might say a hero of the people..To Lucas he seemed like a rather just individual with a noble cause.... it was a warm spring day, The Noble was giving a speech on the beaches of Nujelm. A vast number of people were watching. The Crowd was immense....the perfect place to hide. Lucas slinked into the crowd casually positioning himself within it's mass. The Noble went on and on about outnumbering the city's scourge...and how they could only hope to cleanse it if they worked together. On and on he went preaching the strength of a city united in a cause....But the speech ended there as a bolt from the crowd suddenly found it's way into The Noble's throat. The Sounds of screaming and the Noble gurgling for air were all that remained. The crowd scrambled in all directions...Some looking to escape...some to help the Noble..and others to search for the archer responsible... Lucas played along rushing about with the best shocked look he could put on his face. Escaping with those trying to flee for their lives. His task was done flawlessly, And his position as Tailour ensured. From that day on Lucas earned The reputation of being a heartless killing machine...No target was safe from him....Orphanage workers unable to pay protection....Even the orphans themselves...It was no concern to Lucas who he was contracted to kill...it only mattered that he got the job done. As long as he received his orders...he knew what to do But....What if those orders stopped coming...? End Act 1 |
