Title: Captain's Orders - Core Division - March 21, 2010
Post by: Linaeus on March 22, 2010, 04:28:18 am
((These are orders that apply to the entire Army. This information is available to all members of the Army, regardless of rank or squad.))

Guardsmen,

    With the continuing occupation of West Altmere by the Knights Templar and their allies, it is necessary that the borders of our territory be constantly guarded against further encroachment. To this end, the Baron's Own Grenadiers have constructed a small watchtower on the homestead of Junior Grenadier Keitaro Kazami, on the western shore of the Bay of Altmere (see Covian Encyclopedia for a map). However, this does us very little good if the watchtower is not frequently occupied by groups of guardsmen. In order to maintain our borders to the west, I hereby issue the following orders;

1. Any non-Covian found traveling in the province of East Altmere should be charged a small fee of around 25 shillings as a means of financing the Covian Army's efforts to secure and defend that province against the threats posed from without by the Royalist Alliance and from within by the Altmerian Liberation Front.

2. Sentries are to be constructed as often as possible all along the East-West Altmere border, to facilitate a more comprehensive effort to regulate the movement of goods and people through our lands. Persons stopped at these sentries should be searched for contraband (illegal substances, explosives, items relating to wytchcraft being carried without authorization, etc.) and charged the aforementioned fee.

3. All Guardsmen should make an effort to increase the battle-readiness of both themselves and their fellow guardsmen by regularly leading or attending trainings and other expeditions.

    While armed conflict with our Royalist neighbors is as undesirable as it is unlikely, it is important that our territorial claims and borders be respected by our neighbors and, if this prove not to be the case, upheld by our troops. The safety and security of the nation depend on your efforts, Guardsmen.

- Grenadier Captain Torrak Keres
