Title: Installing uo on windows 7. Post by: Kiran on July 21, 2010, 03:52:00 am So, making a return etc, my laptop dont wish to patch, windwos 7 yadada, so what does one do?

That, or you can try what I did to get it to work; uncheck "read only" in all of the game files' properties bars (or do it on the main file and tell it to do it to all files within as well), set the patcher to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3, then run the patcher, specifying that you with to Run As Administrator. That worked for me. I'm uncertain which one did the trick, I just sort of did everything I could think of doing and then threw in the Run As Admin bit for lulz. Title: Re: Installing uo on windows 7. Post by: Radek Wilkes on July 21, 2010, 10:30:32 am The only issue I had was with UOAssist asking you to link it to some patch files, that can be alittle tricky to find, although I managed it with abit of trial and error.

However, when I was looking into installing Sims 3 on the laptop a bunch of their forum devotees constantly made reference to the administrator function. Either way....
