Title: Return Home
Post by: Railen Morana on August 01, 2010, 11:33:43 pm
Railen came in the door to the Estate, tired and dirty from their battle in the mines with the strange demonic looking red creatures. It had been a good haul, and she found herself actually admiring Ilyana a bit. She certainly had grown from a somewhat bossy watchman to a blossoming leader who was not afraid to lead with a firm hand. Ilyana had given commands clearly and concisely. Something Cove desperately needed right now.

She sighed heavily as she peeled off her boots and gore covered leathers, setting down to clean them before she too wandered up to the bath on the second floor. Maddy was babysitting Ryan while Rai had duty. It was tough with her husband away so much- trying to balance her duties to Cove, and those to her son. It had been weeks since she had seen Raiden. He had been sent off to chart uncharted territories... and she missed him terribly.

She felt surly and aggressive, wanting to attack  at a moments notice. Her muscles ached to move, to run and hunt. To protect her only child, and the people of Cove and make it a safe place for them to live.

When she had married Raiden, she vowed to him that Cove was now her home as well - and it was her responsibility to serve the people by his side. Since he had stepped down, fewer came to parade, many civilians disappeared...weekly gatherings nearly stopped altogether with no notice.

She slipped into the hot steaming water and sighed with relief. She closed her eyes until she head the click of the door opening. Startled she screamed and clutched at her chest. A wide form walked through the steam, bearing a grin as he strode into the room, dropping his gear.

"Im Home Lass." she heard her husbands voice and smiled warmly, her heart pounding hard in her chest first from the freight, then from the sight of him safe and home. Finally she would be able to sleep through the night.

"Its about time." she replied.
