Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Izzy on July 03, 2005, 05:34:31 pm I'd give it a go... now that I lost my job, I have oodles of time, and I'll only be getting a mon-fri to replace it, so I'll still have tons of time, plus I 'love' writing and making plots, not to mention, if we're going to have a citizen place, we might as well have as many if not more events than the milita! Lets get the roleplaying 'really' going!
*thinks of a slogan* Vote for Izzy! She'll give you pies! Title: The Beginning Of A Campaign Post by: Izzy on July 03, 2005, 10:53:25 pm After deciding to run for the position of Mayor, I thought it best to start my campaign as soon as possible. Thinking on the best plan of action for a while, the only idea that came readily to mind was through the medium of words. To do this, I would need books and so, I set off to Cove Provisioners to get supplies.
(http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/620/provisioners18ww.jpg) Once the books were supplied I started contemplating what to write in them, it had to be direct and to the point, whilst still getting across some of my beliefs and ideas for the town. In the end after much deliberation and re-writing, I came to a nice short comment that summed it all up, and a catchy slogan too! "Vote for Izzy, she'll give you pies!" (http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/673/provisioners7vn.jpg) Once I'd decided on a slogan, I had to start distrubuting the booklets around Cove, getting the word to the masses without getting the place messy, I decided that best places to get my word to the people of Cove would be the Cove Gate, that all people had to pass through, the Cove Militia Barracks, so that they would know of the upcoming event, also the Inn, so that as people relaxed, they could also read the books over a drink. The Church also seemed a good place, but not wanting to spoil the 'holyness' in the eyes of the populace, I left the book outside, in a nice display and with the addition of the Minoc Moongate, all was complete. And thus did I make my rounds: The Gates Of Cove (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/6017/covegate2oj.jpg) The Milita Barracks (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/117/thebarracks9yb.jpg) The Inn (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2020/theinn4xz.jpg) Outside The Church (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/1573/thechurch4jl.jpg) And finally: The Minoc Moongate (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/8308/moongate7if.jpg) When all this was complete, I returned back to the Cove Offices, and there began my study of Covian Law. Tonight in the Cove Town Centre, there will be a 'Meet the Candidate' going on for all of the citizens and milita to meet Izzy and ask any questions they might have on her policies, dreams for the town or where these pies actually are. I hope to see you there!! Izzy Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Veldrin on July 04, 2005, 10:58:17 am Vote for Izzy!

Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Izzy on July 04, 2005, 09:18:36 pm The Meet And Greet Your Candidate
Well, I think the meeting on a whole went rather well. Some imporant issues were raised and it was a great chance to get a start on finding out what matters to you, the people of Cove. The people were fed, and although there were no seats (A slight overlook on my part) I believe the 'simple' meet I wanted was successful. I began by building the 'booth' that I would stand in, trading off the desire to show people that I will work for Cove myself, not leave it to others, with the impatience of the crowd, which is to say, I built as fast as my little hands could go. After a brief opening speech I opened to the crowd for questions and answered themas best I could, being honest with my replies even to the point of letting them know when I didn't know enough about a subject to state on it. This will hopefully mean that people with a query or point of interest will bring it to my attention as soon as they think of it. After all a Mayor that doesn't reflect the people will never make a town 'for' the people! When the discussions were over, I left the pies (I always try to deliever on promises!) and headed out for a meeting with the banker to see the state of the Hospital Fund. Izzy OOC: Sorry for the lack of paintings, it appears my easle got wet and they all ran. Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Izzy on July 16, 2005, 12:10:05 am Vote Izzy! She Gives You Pies!! Izzy Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Izzy on July 18, 2005, 03:26:44 pm Election Tonight! That's right all! The long awaited election will be held tonight at the Cove Tower at the very north of Cove. Bring a small brown book with your vote of 'Aye' or 'Nay'. As there is only one candidate running, this will be a vote of confidence, hence the choices available. The ballot will open at 1900 and close at 1930 so remember to bring your books. Your vote counts!! Izzy Title: Re: Mayoral election. Post by: Izzy on July 18, 2005, 08:50:46 pm The Election Is Over!
