I got the message over ICQ, Paps has indeed passed peacefully in his sleep.. I am absolutely devastated by this loss, even if he was a Vesperian.. We lost a wonderful player to the UO community who played up until the end.. It felt not too long ago that I just talked to him, he was  friendly and helpful to the community both in and out of character.. He will be sadly missed.. :(

Update:

The governors of Europa had a council meeting in which we had sort of a memorial for him, a lot of people showed up, some even re-activated their accounts and we all gave him a moment of silence before the meeting took place.. Mostly everyone donned purple for Amantala and a lot of former Vesper militia showed up in their old uniforms, including Escaflowne, it was nice, Paps would have enjoyed the evening..

Sorry to learn of this loss, I can't recall a specific encounter with Paps, but nevertheless his contribution to the roleplay community will be sorely missed.
