Title: Recruit Training Session and Evening Duties Post by: Kelly Sanderson on August 24, 2018, 10:09:11 pm Led by: Kelly Sanderson, Sergeant Attending: Joaquin Quincil, Guardsman Recruit Kyle Wulfe, Guardsman Recruit A quiet night in and around Cove tonight. So us on the night shift decided to make ourselves useful. It had been me and Recruit Quincil for most of the night. The Captain had joined us briefly for a bout of wrestling with the Recruit. In the middle of this, Recruit Wulfe appeared for duty. I decided to conduct a little recruit's training session, with the ongoing battle happening. Our recruits need to know their basic commands and understand them. Nothing worse than a load of recruits resembling headless chickens running around the battlefield. We covered the following: *Addressing a superior *Sounding off *Numbering off *Tracker's Line *Arming up *Readying arms *Holding arms *At ease *Equipment check - Light sources, bedrolls, rations etc *Vesperian borders - Where guardsmen should/should not roam alone (https://i.imgur.com/yXbRFiu.jpg) After this was all covered and the guardsmen looks sufficiently bored to death, myself and Recruit Quincil headed to the graveyard for a clear out to wind down our evening's duties (See Recruit Quincil's report for the stabbing on the Troggs). My backside still hurts a fair amount, but I managed to tackle the night shift with a bit of determination. One guardsman duty awarded to Recruit Quincil for his constant three hour participation in various duties including a hunt, resource gathering, a training session, a wrestling match and a patrol. Good work. I hope you learnt a lot this evening. However, it must be notes that Recruit Quincil persists in referring to me as 'Luv' and has received many laps this evening for this offence. *Signed* Kelly Sanderson, Sergeant |
