Title: A Daring Rescue Mission
Post by: Hoagie on December 02, 2005, 10:28:04 pm
Regular Grenadier Vince Valentine rounded up several guardsmen around the barracks and informed them that there were reports of a young lass being lost in the dark depths of shame dungeon.

Attendees:
Malin, Guardsman Recruit
Fabien, Gaurdsmen Recruit
Talpa Europaea, Watchman
Kal Shadowhand, Regular Scout
Dracir, Officer Cadet
Hoagie, Junior Guardsman

We were briefed about the reports that had been recieved, and we set off to the Dungeon Shame using Hoagie's book.

Drachir was placed in command of the hunt, as regretfully, Regular Vinve Valentine could not make it, so we began following Drachir through the upper levels of the dungeon.

Drachir lead us most of the way down, with excellent orders and healing all round.

However, all hell broke loose once Guardsman Recruit Malin started flinging accusations around about stealing his boat fund, and the accusations turned to insults. This lead to a full blown arguement, and Cadet Drachir was so annoyed by the bickering between some of the recruits that he dismissed us on the spot and went home. A few of the others left before him, and just me, Fabien, and Talpa were left, determined not to let an arguement between guardsmen risk the life of an innocent girl.

Drachir left me in cahrge, so I lead the other two brave soldiers through the pitch black in the general direction that we were heading before.

After several struggles with Blood Elementals, Talpa came up with a plan to lure them aside into an empty cave, before running back for us to dash down the opening.

Me and Fabien waited at the bridge, while Talpa went on ahead to lure them aside, then returned for us to dash down the other hallway.

We waited outside a small hole, where Talpa said she had heard sobbing. I volunteered to go first, but before we could make a descision we were set upon by a blood elemental!

We made out way into the hole together, and found the girl sobbing in a corner...

We escorted her back to the healers in Cove. I dismissed Talpa there, and after the healer said she was okay, me and Fabien escorted her back to her home in the treetop village of Heartwood.

I dismissed Fabien, and we walked home to rest after a daring rescue mission...

Despite all the absurdity surrounding recruit Malin's personal quest for gold and his accusations of thievery amongst the unit, the few that soldiered on were able to achieve the goal of the mission; locating the girl in good health and returning her home safely.

Thank you to Junior Grenadier for resuming control of the mission.

[OOC]  Personally that was one of the most enjoyable hunts I have been on.  It didn't go quite to plan, but the IC arguments and circumstances that the few remaining guards found themselves in made it really different from usual dungeon runs.  Cheers Vince  :D [/OOC]
