Title: Ale Delivery: FEEDBACK
Post by: Gregor Eason on December 18, 2005, 11:36:31 pm
Hope ye all enjoyed this Sunday's Ale Delivery event. Hoping to bring more heart stopping action and intrigue like that to ye on a regular basis.

Would be most interested to hear some feedback on the event, however.

What were the bad points?
What were the good points?
Is there anything ye would have improved upon?

Cheers,
Eason

P.S. The original dev notes! http://sugeworld.com/ale.html

I wasn't there for the whole event but never mind:

What were the bad points?
- Grd quitting at the end
- The waiting time for us

What were the good points?
- Was a fun and interesting fight
- Building the fort was good and the way it was actually used
- The tactics envolved, i like an organised fight
- Working with cove again! Yey!

Is there anything ye would have improved upon?
- Just the time really

Bad Points:
The looting of Kazuo's axe.
The GRD officers encouraging their men to mock our injured after the second battle.
I couldn't really tell from my position but if GRD couldn't muster enough men for their final assualt then that is a shame also.

Good Points:
It was a fantastically organised event - congratulations to all involved in it's organisation and co-ordination.
Former Covian John Dell sticking up for his old mates while the rest of his fellows mocked us.
We got the Ale - we may have lost the battles 2 to 1 but we won the war!  ;)

Improvements:
From my point of view it was fantastic - i really enjoyed the event and the seaborne escape was a nice twist - a shame perhaps that we weren't persued to the docks where we could have made another stand! ;)

-Good points-

was REALLY good, had a really good time. Nothing like some big fighting, fun idea, nice loacations, good defensive and attacking idea etc.

-Bad points-

GRD.    *grins*  they were logging and using alts, which is annoying but yeh, appart from that i thought it was good made it exciting for us i spose!

-overall-

Great event very fun and satisfying :D

I dont get one thing.. You got beat at every battle (except some last one at the very end because most Grd  buggered off (why?)) but still got two batches of ale?  ;D

The Final Stand at the Docks would have been AWESOME.
But unfortunately Grd were running low on numbers then, and the Ale Delivery was running into another Event.
It was part of the original plan though - I LOVE City Fighting :D

This won't be much help now but should help in any future cases of looting.

If you notice something is missing use Forensic Eval on your corpse (even if you have 0 skill it works on  your own corpse) and it will list all who have interfered with your belongings.

I'm not sure if it just lists those who take something, or those who move something about or those who just enter it.  Some tests might be useful to make sure its not going to list someone who accidently double clicked on the wrong body.

That's a very good idea, and could definitely help with tracking down looted items.
I suggest everyone take this precaution immediately if they discover any of their belongings missing.

But PLEASE come to BoC Leaders FIRST. Do not take matters into your own hands.

Just a question, does this 'Forensing Eval' work on your bones...?

*feels like a noob all over again*

I actually have a char with 60ish forensics

but then, I only noticed when I used my equip weapon macro and UOA came with a "cannot pick up object" (or something) message

still, never saw that axe again :S
*sets loose dragons in Stonekeep*

Best to insure anything that might be tempting for an unscrupulous opponent to pilfer if they knock you.

Plus its always fun getting a tidy sum dumped in your bank box whenever you knock someone that has lots of stuff insured :P
