Title: Patrolling the area....
Post by: Kas Valentine on January 13, 2006, 07:37:14 pm
Patrol to Cove cemetary

Led by: Junior Guardsman Delcarakdur.

Attended by: Junior Guardsman Kas Valentine, Regular Guardsman Judas Deibeau, Officer Cadet Kal Shadowhand, Guardsman Recruit Nicholi, Junior Guardsman Darath Mithar.

Delcarakdur gathered the available guardsmen with a few hefty tugs of the barracks bellrope and within a few moments we were stood before him being ordered this way and that.

Delcarakdur gives Darath a few tips.

We were instructed that we would be heading for the local graveyard to curtail the tide of undead as they were beginning to overflow into the nearby road. With a cry of "with me" Delcarakdur led the men into the forests and towards their target. As they approached the cemetary the leader of the patrol blacked out so Nicholi and I watched over him while the rest of the men proceeded to the graveyard. When he came around we followed the path of the others and soon found ourselves amongst the slaughter of the undead.

The undead were swiftly dealt with and before long nothing but silence could be heard throughout the resting place for the deceased. Unfortunately during the heat of the battle Judas mistook a healer of the forest for one of the ghastly undead and beat him to a pulp.

A wandering healer comments on Covian discipline.

After some harsh words from our leader Delcarakdur we were rallied outside the gates of the cemetary and prepared to set out further into the forest.

State of Cove cemetary: Safe for this day, give or take a wandering healer.

Patrol of Altmere

Led by: Junior Guardsman Delcarakdur.

Attended by: Junior Guardsman Kas Valentine, Regular Guardsman Judas Deibeau, Officer Cadet Kal Shadowhand, Guardsman Recruit Nicholi, Junior Guardsman Darath Mithar.

Having overcome our sorrow for the loss of one of Cove's finest healers Delcarakdur ordered us onwards towards the outpost of Altmere.

The guardsmen run screaming like girls from the undead The guardsmen head for Altmere.

Upon our arrival at the outpost Delcarakdur ordered us to check every nook and cranny of the building to ensure we wouldn't be taken by surprise. I checked under all the beds, the recruits checked the roof and Darath gave beneath the table a thorough going over.

Any bogeymen under there...?

We discovered no assasins so our leader set up guard duty at various points throughout the outpost. Most of the men were placed at the entrances but I was given the job of lookout on the roof of the place (where I must say it was rather chilly). I threw myself into this task eagerly and lit my torch so I could see any would be attackers even clearer. I squinted into the distance several times but it seems it was something of a quiet evening as nothing approached and nothing jumped from the plentiful shadows.

Look out, Kaldorians ! Oh no wait, it's a donkey.

Having kept the outpost secure for a good while our leader rallied us outside (after giving Nicholi and Darath an earful for not sticking to their posts) and ordered us home to the barracks.

Alright alright, we heard you.

Having been practicing my sprinting technique during battles with the Yewish I was first to arrive there. Once Delcarakdur and the others returned we were dismissed and given a sharp salute.

State of Altmere: Safe (and sound) for this day.
