Title: Custom Armour Post by: Guy_de_Savant on February 08, 2005, 05:21:35 am would anyone be interested if i made them customised suits of armour..specialising in high energy high fire and high phys resists?
they would be quite expensive however... typical suits in leather are 70/50+/40+/v.low/50+ customised to suit if you prefer more fire or energy.... comes with free infinite lasting anti paralyse box that does 8-16 pts of damage and breaks ya outta of paralyse :O my current armour is 70/70/43(will changin to 45/32/45 Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Althalus on February 08, 2005, 05:54:32 am hmmm i would be intrested depending on the price ..... let me know?

gah im poor and they take ages to make. icq me...i shud be onthe icq list somewhere..cant remember mine off the top of my head. Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Julius Estory on February 08, 2005, 04:57:20 pm Well to be very honest i don't think anyone should get armour made to resist a certain type of Element and/or Physical damage.
It ruins the game balance if you ask me. In CoY we had a perioed where everyone made armours that gave 70 poison resist... Imagine how much fun assassins had in this period... None! Getting armour that gives a high resist in any type ruins it for a group of people... Getting high PR ruins it for most of course since it is Melee normally when PvP is happening. High fire resist will ruin it for many mages since they use Explosion or Flame Strike. Energy will ruin the effect of Energy Bolt among other... As I've said in a previous post... Have a beating IC, have a laugh OOC.... It's a game... Not some fight for survival ;) Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Dellamona on February 08, 2005, 05:14:38 pm I agree with Julias. Its just a game.
Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Locke DaOrt on February 08, 2005, 05:28:50 pm Yeh but how much fun is it when u get para/explode/flamestriked by a legendary mage?
its insta death...no fun in it nore is there any skill needed...its just a lame move that cant be beaten Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Althalus on February 08, 2005, 07:53:46 pm Whilst i must aggre with locke on that being an unbeatable move unless you are very lucky or have gm or better resist spells i dont think 70 pr would affect rp much due to most people using weapons in metals other than iron and its main advantage would be in pvm i think. Having said this i wont be getting one .... not at 200k sorry but thats a bit much for armer that is only gm i know it takes a lot of tries and leather to get the right resists but ill manage without at that price.
Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Visko on February 09, 2005, 12:43:13 pm I've said before on another board, para shouldn't be needed at all except where you have a runner concerned,
Para/Explo/Para/Explo (rinse repeat) is just as lame. With assassins, it's no longer the problem with poison resist, more so those running around with templates gimped to the teeth using orange petals, and a few other scenarios. Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Nathaniel Hawk on February 09, 2005, 01:02:36 pm Uhm...
Never actualyl thoguth about my resists ... *still living in the dark ages* ;D Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Guy_de_Savant on February 09, 2005, 02:36:31 pm tbh....thats why they made magic resist...
i think youll also find that orange petals do not work on dp. oh well nevermind. I retract my offer. also julius if an assasin actually knows what he is doing..he relies on the status effect of the poison..not the damage it does. taa... i used to be one of the best poisoners anywhere so i should know. Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Julius Estory on February 09, 2005, 06:31:08 pm So was I...
And yes Lethal Poison brings fear into people normally but why should they stay afraid when they know you will only drain 9-11 damage? I know a lot of people that said that assassins were no problem and i also know quite a lot of assassins from CoY who were quite upset about it... And about the High PR in PvP.... It is correct that people uses Bronze, Verite etc. However you normally customize it for one or two 70 and then rest in 50-60 so it isn't just one resist you pump but too.. Getting ganked by a legendary mage... Well Name a game where a mage that is trained to his max isn't VERy dangerous... Any fantasy universe where mages aren't lethal when trained up to their top(if there is one).... Guess what... you can't... Lineage... Dark elf - Wizard... Neverwinter nights... Level 40 Wizard, Sorceror, Red dragon Disciple (Not possible i know), Pale Master (Also not possible) BG, BG2... Level 18 (Higher if exp cap removed) mage or sorceror... I don't even wanna mention any more games... Mages rocks but they are surely vulnerable! 120 resist helps. Groups helps. Archers are deadly to them since they can paralyze the mage right back if they wish to. There are numerous ways. Everyone feared the so-called witches and wizards in the dark ages too... Otherwise why were they burned? I just wanted to point out that customizing your armour and resists just to prevail in PvP is in my opinion a bad thing (Notice i didn't say lame... :P ) Others may have other opinions of course... We are different beings and if you wish to customize your armour feel free... This is simply a point of view from my little corner of the world outside UO ;) Julius struggles to get over 30 in each resist and i die fast aye... but i really don't care course i had fun RP'ing and PvP'ing with the rest of you and whoever was in the event. Customize it for PvM then if you wish since getting killed every time you try to retrieve your corpse is annoying in the end ;) Ah well I'm babbling again now. Taa Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Guy_de_Savant on February 09, 2005, 07:18:17 pm Well actually to answer the point about they dont care if it will to 6-11 damage...
i hate saying this...but its not the damage its the fact their poisoned. the fact that they for a limited time can not heal the damage you inflict. The damage you do *sticks*. the fact it disrupts aids blah blah. that is the power of poisoning...not the direct damage. I used to have a parry poisoner-i was able to kill whole guild gank squads. This is no joke..ask around. Having your fun rp'ing is the main aim of the game sure. However I am however in a position where i actually have to fight...my armour is sometimes all that stands between me and untimely gankage. Title: Re: Custom Armour Post by: Julius Estory on February 09, 2005, 07:34:15 pm Well at some point they don't care about being poisoned... That i do know also :)
Experienced it... They simply hurl down Greater Cures and that's it. And well... Take your ganking and be happy the game is only stopped until ye find that healer ;) :P No one is invincible.. Neither here or IRL *grins* Anyway I've said my points so i believe my time in this post has been used.. wasn't a discussion anyway but an offer to get customized armours :) |
