I sneaked through the streets of Brittain to our temporary outpost there. Salidin was arranging a hunt to Despise when i arrived,  a lot of new faces there. Raw recruits eh? Well the help of a Watchman was required i thought - especially one as deadly as me. *smiles evily*

The hunt got off to a disjointed start as Salidin and Lysandra couldn't decide which one of them was actually in charge *smirks* and most of the recruits had little equipment apart from the uniforms they were standing in, not even a light source.

We battled on however slaying ettins and elementals. I tried to pass on the knowledge I have learned as a Watchman to the new recruits as we went. "Hold formation!", "Heal", "Nay beggar off!" etc.

We made our way down a level slaying trolls, ogres and half a dozen or of the tougher ogre lords. My axe did come in handy *smiles evily* at one point i was the last guardsman standing! Helping my comrades up while holding off the beasts, even Grenadier Salidin took a whack!


When we had regrouped we fought a retreat back to our base at the North Side Inn where we deposited our loot, almost eight thousand coins before being dismissed by Salidin.

It is good to see our ranks swelled by recruits and with a little training and more experience the three that I fought beside last eve will make fine guardsmen! Just a Watchman's opinion... *smiles evily*
