Title: Old story - From the Shadows Post by: Mela Arkay on July 05, 2006, 02:38:16 pm Sitting on the edge of the squeaky clean table in Cove healers Mela peered over Nic who had fallen earlier that day by the blade of an undead. It made her angry to think that she wasn't around when he was in trouble, so angry she barely noticed the bear like grip she had on the fragile glass of water. The same bone bag had attacked many times before and had been struck down, yet it kept returning. Mela placed the glass down next to herself on the table and lifted the piece of string from around her neck, the boney finger which had been tied on was from the same undead she remebered it all too well though it hadn't stopped it.
Her heart had felt like it was going to beat right out of her ribcage when she saw Nich lying unconcious in a pile of bloody bones and body parts and although it was on no ones "to do" list to trapes through the mess she had done without second thought. Slipping off the table and balancing her weight on her good leg Mela leant over Nic and place the back of her pale and scarred hand on his forehead. He was still inhumanly cold and pale it was strange, how could he survive this cold? Shrugging the thought away Mela gazed out the window into the darkness and grabbed her charcole hamaka-shita off the headboard of his bed. Although Mel was slowing down with her work it was still tiring back when she was boss of Henry Winter's crew her work was limited, why do something when you can have someone else do it for you? Walking out the healers with some hesitation she glanced over her shoulder as the balding and over weight healer who shortly closed the door gently behind her. Needless to say her anger had faded more into worry... Title: Re: {IC STORYS} From the Shadows Post by: Mela Arkay on August 03, 2006, 08:03:26 am Mela stared into the mirror inside the tailors shop, she stared at her baby blonde hair the locks twirled with tiny pieces of ice blue ribbon ended off with small clay beads painted in bright white. It was all so alien to her, the bright whitey blue ribbon covered wedding dress to the dainty silver ribbon tied sandals compared to the outfits she used to wear when she was in with Henrys crew, large blood and mud covered boots and barely fitting clothes which had been salvaged from a dead body at the back of the fort it was really no wonder to anyone who knew of her past why she felt so strange, so..different.
"Will that be it ma'am?" the plump tailor asked in her thick Skara Braen accent the shawl which covered her greying brown hair faded and covered in tiny holes. Turning her head to the tailor Mela nodded and flickered one of those rare genuine smiles the ones which really only Erik saw the type of smile which everyone knew she meant. With that Maddline the tailor picked up her kit and silently crept out of the changing room, leaving the bride to shimmy out of the tight and most expensive dress, the wedding was in a couple of hours though the fabric of the dress was so fine she didn't want to dirty it and seeing as Delc, though he didn't know it yet, was paying for it she didn't want to ruin it quite yet. Closing the tailors door behind her the bell rattling lightly Mela wandered through the streets of skara her boots splashing in the puddles from the light rain earlier in the morning the dress tucked neatly in a paper bag which she held close to her in her right arm. Stopping outside the bank Mela took a deep breath her mind trailing to her wedding, she hoped nothing would go wrong everything seemed right, brides maids had their dresses best man was picked and even Hoagie was walking her down the isle though it was a shame she hadn't seen Delc in months and on this occasion he would have loved to be there. Storing the dress away neatly under the watch of the Skara Braen guard Mel sat in the small park around the public chess board and laid a small wrapped bundle on her lap. And after devouring her small packed breakfast of sandwiches and fruit it was time for Mela's small amount of duty for the day. Although Vincents hunt to doom was challenging and though Mel weaved dexterously in between the monsters her mind kept sweying her nerves growing for her wedding later on in the evening resulting in nic's and cuts on her skin and armour. Sighing Mela lowered her warfork and wiped the back of her mitt across her forehead was time for the big one, once Redfield had struck the deal with the overly pale wench she chanted low under her breath. All around stood listening, and all was silent until the sudden screeching of a large bone deamon raced towards the covians, the ground shaking underneath them. Although surprisingly quick, with the mixture of cat like and elven reflexes Mela was incredibly weak and was easily batted down, until tactics were changed and quickly Mela pulled out her crossbow. Everyman for themselves. Mela's favorite, she was always better at solo fighting and with other people to distract the beast she could fire the arrows at it without fear of being knocked aside, or worse being killed. With only two hours to go until their wedding Mela rushed around with Hoagie and Kelly, her two best friends, the three musketeers! Gathering bunches of flowers and what not to decorate the chosen location. Erik popped up every now and again, looking as nervous as Mela was rushing around with his pack mule full of food and beverages for the coming guests. Sitting down inside the maze when all was laid out Mela sighed softly, guests had already started gathering and shuffling to seats, Hoagie and Kelly had run off to change into their outfits and in a matter of minutes she was laying down her freedom and vowing to spend the rest of her life with another, was this really the life the free spirited ex brigand boss chose? ..she didn't even have to think twice, slipping into the shade of a tree Mel pulled on the dress and the dainty sandals. Who she was back in her teens, who she was when she lived in the fort, when she was with Danam and spent her days with the Brutus brothers accompanied by the shuffling shy boy Rigan Pierre was not who the blonde haired duty bound strumpet was today and walking down that beautifully lit isle with Hoagie by her side Kelly to her front and Tammy behind was probably one of the best things she had ever done... (Not continued from the last one, with all honesty I completely forgot I'd made this topic until reminded. This is just general story about her wedding day! Corny yes, but thats me for you;).)
