Title: Using house reveal (detect hidden).
Post by: Kazuo Shinrai on July 31, 2006, 10:40:30 pm
Any friend of the house can use the detect hidden skill with 0 skill and reveal any stealthers on the entire plot (no matter where inside the house you target).

THIS IS VERY BAD FORM!

Using this is not only frowned upon by the entirity of CoRE (it is completely OOC), it also ruins the roleplay of stealthers and assassins (or people guiding npcs).

DO NOT USE IT.

As for those of you who do not understand why not to use it, this is a true story.

Assassins have been camping a house while hidden, waiting for hours on end for the door to open (as opening doors when hidden is not done either and also it gives you away). When it finally did, the assassins managed to get inside and prepared their hit. Only to be revealed by someone using house reveal. Hours of "work" all for nothing at the press of a button.

This is a major pain in duels etc on the barracks roof.  I don't mind if the person doing it has invested a significant number of skill points in Detect Hiddn though.
