Title: Artisan Guild Overview
Post by: Veldrin on August 04, 2006, 06:16:55 pm
The Artisan Guild
"An Artisan takes great pride in his work. There is nothing more important than the craft, be it brewing magical potions, weaving beautiful clothing, or forging a flawless sword. Every inspired creation contains a piece of the Artisan's heart and soul."

The Artisan’s Guild is comprised of skilled craftsmen who use the raw materials purchased from the Harvester and Hunter Guilds to create fine wares to sell for a profit. They can be Carpenters, Tailors, Blacksmiths, Fletchers, and more. Artisans work together to fulfill order contracts or they can travel to distant cities to sell their goods.

Artisan Traits
Unlike the nimble hunter or a hardy miner, Artisans Are relatively delicate in build and stature, not designed for hard manual labor. They may even be overweight homebodies. They have no need for a toned muscular structure, as their work is primarily indoors and right in front of them. The Artisans tend to believe they are smarter and more cultured than other citizens and guardsmen, believing their talent is a gift from Avatar. Their dress style reflects this, as they usually wear brighter colors, cleaner clothing, with a trendy sense of fashion.

Required Skills
To join this guild you must have one or more crafting skill such as Tailoring, Blacksmithy, carpentry*, Tinkering*, Fletching, or Alchemy.

Rules and Regulations
* All Artisans should strive to abide the law.
* No Artisan may bear arms or don armor other than for the purpose of displaying them to the public at large.
* Artisans are to use resources from the Harvester and Hunter Guilds to meet demand.
* Personal Contracts are disallowed: Individuals who wish to place orders shall do so on the corresponding forum thread, which will be fulfilled at a timely basis.
* Wages are dependant on what the Artisans contribute during events to the Guild Store

*While these skills fulfill the requirements you need to get into the Artisans Guild, notbeing able to craft armor or weapons may dramatically reduce your income (as there would be more demand for clothing, armor, and weapons than tinkered items or furniture), hindering or even preventing your ability to advance classes.
