Title: An average day in the Barony.. Post by: Octiovus on December 11, 2004, 10:38:48 pm *Sir Hugo galloped up on his mount, a fierocous looking war steed clad in Cove colours and equipped with armour to protect it's face. Near-by, a citizen happily worked the fields. But this was not to be his lucky day.. For this citizen had forgot to come to church on Sunday, and give in his tithe...*
*Sir Hugo brought the mount to a neat halt, and dismounted hitting the ground hard, warhammer in hand, eye's filled with zeal. The citizen that had been working so happily now glanced up, sighting Hugo, his face turned pale. His eye's filled with fear. He dropped his pitch fork and held up his hand's in a vague term of surrender...* *Sir Hugo eye'd the man, thinking to himself how pathetic he was. He had made his choice to betray the Lord, now he couldn't defend his action's. He never took pleasure in ending the life of a fellow man, yet he felt this one would be easier. He advanced unspeaking towards the man..* *The citizen despratly plea'd he'd pay double the tithe owed, vist the church seven day's a week, whatever he wanted.. Sir Hugo just speeded his advance towards the citizen and then, in a well oiled motion, brought the hammer down on him with a sickening crunch, and the deed was done.. The man lay there.. Dead in his own blood..* *Sir Hugo let out a short, piercing laugh at the ease of the deed.. He then remounted his steed, galloping off into the distance, the other citizen's staring or pretending to work twice as hard now..* *The Lord's bidding was done..* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Meanwhile... Rex woke, in a ditch, a bottle of strong liquor by his hand. He groaned and hauled himself up, thinking over the previous night's event's.. Not that he could remember much. Probably up to his usual mischief he thought. For after all, Rex was scum in every sense of the word. He was a born and bred criminal with no respect for any law, any property, and he was just going to do whatever the hell seemed like a good idea at the time. That was his life. A life of bar brawls, cheap whores, murder and theft. And he loved every minute of it. Then a thought occured to him .. Maybe there was more to life than this ..? .... Nah! He then staggered off in search of his old partner in crime, Elminster..* |
