Greetings Regular Te'l'Var. Your hard work has not gone unnocticed, and you are mere steps away from the rank that many envy, yet few achieve....Senior Guardsman. So, without further ado, you're trial.....

Senior Trial: Demarian Tel'var

Part One
You are to contact Iryvn, Duke of  of Trinsic and organise trade talks with him and his most senior officers. The alliance that we share with Trinsic is shaky at best due to our 'colourful' history with them, so good negotiation skills and a little Grenadier charm will be essential! Here is a full list of what's to be requested by yourself:

Two kegs of explosives (Greater Conflag)

Four bolts of the finest Trinsican silks, for the Barons own personal use

Two Crates of the finest Trinsican wine

A steed of the finest breeding, in the hopes that one day it shall replace the Barons beloved Chelmsford.

In return for these goods, Trinsic shall place a trade request themselves, choosing from our vast range of Covian wares. Once you have swapped orders, you shall be required to order, from our fine citizens, everything on Trinsics list.

Once the crafters have finished their work, you shall arrange a time/date for the trade to take place, leading a caravan to Trinsic to deliver the goods.
Once this is done, you shall safely escort our order home. This is a task that shall require alot of planning, but as a grenadier, it is well within your abilities.

Conditions

The actual trade talks should be held in a public place, such as a town hall or some such building.

You must have one command member with you at these talks, as well as four other guardsmen

Anything that Trinsic order must be made by citizens of Cove, via an order delivered by yourself. Your own alts may not be used.

These are peaceful talks, so hostility must be avoided at all costs!

The steed that you recieve may not be ridden under any circumstance.

Two reports shall be written by yourself, one of the actual talks, and one of the caravan going to/from Trinsic, and posted in This thread


Part Two COMPLETE

Leadership is a key skill in any senior guardsman. To demonstrate this, you're to lead a campaign on the most unholy of this lands creatures. In three seperate missions, you shall take down an array of foul beasts. These missions shall be...

1) Lead your squad of at least Four other guardsmen to the depths of Deceit Dungeon. Once there, eradicate any and all liches that you find, as well as any other threat that lurks.

2) Lead your squad of at least Five other guardsmen to the Dungeon of blood, located in Sprituallity, Ilshnear. Work your way through the many tunnels until you reach the lair of the Succubi. Queen of the undead, you'll have your work cut out just keeping your guardsmen alive with this one.

3) Lead you squad of at least Four other guardsmen through the kitsune fields of tokuno, where'll you'll find the fearsome 'Oni'. Said to be a spirit of pure chaos, he'll not be easy to vanquish.

Conditions

You must have the number of guardsmen stated on each mission.

A report with sketchs must be written for each mission successfully completed, stating the tactics you used.

The three missions must be lead seperatly

As a senior guardsman, Organisational skills will be vital!
As such, I'd like you to arrange patrols for Five consecutive days.
These should focus on the five main patrolling points of Cove and it's surrounding areas, with one patrol being lead per day. You may lead one of these yourself, but the remaining four shall have to be delegated to fellow guardsmen.

Conditions

All patrols must be logged In this thread, by either you or the guardsman who leads the patrol.

All five patrols must be lead on consecutive days, one per day for five days straight.

These patrols can be to anywhere within Covian patrolling range.

You may only lead One patrol yourself, four of them must be lead by guardsmen that you've delegated to.


That's the lot Demarian, you'll find in your pigeon box a few details that may come in handy.

After i gave the men a lecture at the barracks about cove needing to be patrolled checked up on as it doesn't seem to be done much anymore for some reason.
Well anyhow heading on yonder we reached the valiant walls of cove where i gave another quick brief before heading into the magnificent town,after a few steps we came up on a vile crime which some woman for was funny after going to arrest her shes used a smoke bomb and disappeared,Shadowhand soon informed it was a sneaky bugga like him'..

Further inspection of the town was carried out head to the light house tower
After checking both floors we came to the concussion everything was in order and had been documented,also the bank has not had any robberies or strange characters wondering about.

Heading to the farmers market we found some disturbing sights dismembered humans being sold grotesques! After arresting the culprit we told them to start trading in pigs and not humans also i will checking in the week for health and safety issues this might be the cause of dead for many recruit eating mould and diseased food.

Finishing off the patrol we scored the shire finding the odd few monsters and hostile animals,finishing the patrol at the old necromancer church we burned over twenty seven years ago we headed back encountering again the odd few monsters and Regdar's apprent great grand mother a lich '?

Ah well on return to the barracks i debriefed them and dismissed then on a job well done!

Tuesday Patrol

Area Covered:- The surrounding area of Trinsic.

As the majority of Covians were, in fact, based in Trinsic, I gathered a group of willing guardsmen to aid me in a patrol of the surrounding area. There had been several brigand and undead attacks throughout the day, so it was important to make sure everyone was safe. Especially so with so many people gathered in one place. We had a good turn out, and a member of the Amazon people offered to lend her sword on the patrol. We gathered at the Trinsic west gate, and were delayed to our start by a disagreement between the Amazonian and a pair of shifty types who had allegedly planned to rob her while she slept. After defusing the situation, we slowly head off to the west. We went on for a while, hacking our ways through the thick branches, when WHAM! Two of our number plummeted into a dark ant hole. Glancing around to see where they went, I looked at the ground and saw the opening of the cave. After a short time, they managed to escape by climbing up some roots, we continues around, making our way to the south gate.

The journy around was uneventful, the only threat showing itself to be a large snake. Quickly dispatched by the five of us, Watchman Mikaela was pigeoned with an emergency, and had to leave. We continued around to the south gate, where I dismissed the men.

As I headed back to the Covian Headquarters, mumbling to myself about Trinsic being safe for another day, a sharp whistle came from the West Gate. Dashing over, I saw the shifty looking characters from before had drawn weapons, and were looking for a fight! Quickly drawing my sword, Me, Mela and a Kaldorian guardsman quickly dispatched one of the Brigands, the other fleeing into the trees.

Perhaps a sentry would have been more use!

Thursday Patrol (Trinsic due to moot)

We set off out to patrol the town of Trinsic. A lot of peace loving Covians are here for the moot and a fair lass called Mirael accepted my offer of protection as we wandered the streets.

Everything seemed quiet, apart from the Watchman's insubordination. That said he's a stealther and i'm sure Mela will straighten him out!

Then out of thin air it seemed, every Covians favourite Waywatcher twice attacked Mirael an unarmed, defenceless commoner. However his third cowardly attack saw him knock her to the floor.


Hoagie and i chased him halfway back to Yew. We returned to where Mela was tending to the injured civilian. She had a few cuts, bumps and bruises but nothing serious.

Everyone safe again I dsimissed the patrol.

I can vouch for Krieger's patrol Dem' as I attended along with Hoagie, Mela and one or two others.

We vanquished the grim reaper with a little help from some adventurers.

I think Krieger is on leave at the moment but a pigeon may speed the report?

Well I did stage that Friday patrol with the recruit Curulhach. I asked for the recruit to do the report and painting. Didnt realize that it was me to do the report and painting.
Well I sent pidgeons for the paintings to be sent to me so I can finish that report. Didnt get them yet.

Right if you can't get the pictures just add some detail so i can imagine what happened.

Friday Patrol (minoc gate to altmere outpost)

Well as I promised you a patrol on that friday I sent a guild message for a patrol to meet at the barracks.
Unfortunately we where only two members to complete that task. But to my enjoyment the member showing up was Recruit Culharach a fellow archer!
So our first goal was to clear the way from the covian area to the minoc gate so our citizens especially unarmed commoners can pass safely.
The only real threat in that area consisted of 3 ogres and 2 harpies that are no longer a threat.
I let the recuit vanquish this threat alone I just stood back and was waiting to jump in, in case he needed some help.
That was not neccesary as the recruit already showed a remarkable expertise with his bow.
I didnt even have to tell him to cut out the feathers from the harpy. Well done recruit Culharach!
While carefully advancing  to the minoc gate we checked the ground for any susbicious tracks.
We didnt find any
After we reached the minoc gate the recruit had to leave and I continued the patrol to the altmere outpost.
The recruit did his job so well that he didnt leave me anything to do! Well I did find a large amount of what I consider an illegal substance.
I cleared the area of 73 leaves of nightshade. Other then this the patrol was relatively quiet.

A month late, but better late than never.

As such, there's nay much this old sod can remember, therefore there's nay much I can say. The guards were in Trinsic for the moot, so there it was that we gathered. We marched to the Trinsic portal and stepped out the Minoc portal, and from there on to the Vesper crossroads and finally the graveyard.



What with Halloween having just passed, the dead were unusually active though still proved nay match for Covian soldiers. However, when a couple of Revenants appeared, alongside the Grim Reaper himself, the situation became interesting. The group battled the bastard for a good while, and before long a large group of civvies came along and gave us a hand, in their brightly coloured armour and on their transparent mounts.


Then... Well, I must've taken a bump to the head or something. Everything's blank. Arr.

Task2: part Two


Tactics used

After finding some recruits with nothing to do, quickly i gathered up a Small force consisting on Erik Arkay and three over recruits as well as a hunter who claims she knew her way round she did not seem to know her way though meeting are so called guide at the moongate located at Minoc we headed off to spiritually. We headed south-west from the mongate to the blood dungeon ive been here before while training in the Grenadier art's of Honour and sacrifice both ate noble acts a grenadier should know,anyhow going off track! We arrived at the entrance greeted by a few skeletons no match not even a drop of sweat.... in we entered taking on a slight resist from bone knights and imps as they blasted and hack as us with magic and steel!

Down we entered here the mages in are squad blessed us with the ability to see in the dark. We did not get far before running into a figure made of blood with a shroud like bottom half floats and throwing fire towards us. We dodged and heal as the fire balls came past then we locked into combat where with great cross healing we came through at this point Joey Lanai joined us and off we headed closer to the daemons lair!
The road ahead made us fight more of these blood elements and then onto my favourite beast's Daemons quick we dispatched these foes and headed onto the prize to are Miss fortune a Balron lord waited for us as we approached the she Daemon it took flight and attacked quickly we retreated and regained are steady advance CHARGE! We engaged the she daemon to kill the first of it in seconds!Many more appeared from the death vortex and its cat minions fought us to their deaths with there dark mistress.

After a long hard battle we retreated with are fallen and losses to cove.
We collected a grand sum of over thirty thousand coins! sharing it out in the army we returned to  are duties after i dismissed them.

Tactics used


The Raging Defender
This is a combination of two orders the first being the charge as you ascend on the enemy and then form up on it to maximize defence and healing affect. This way you can defensively attack an enemy while moving forward instead of standing ground for long periods.

The Arrow head
This is done by the leader making the arrow point to his left and right behind him two melee/shield fighters preferred rear rank usually two to three archer or two archer and a mage it maximises attack and defense when approaching an enemy ahead of you.

Anyways again i found a bored recruit moaning about something so i said line yer arse up swine! Grabbing the captain,Kal and my brother Grenadier i had them line up and briefted them on the mission at hand to find an Oni and kill it!
Off we marched through the thick snow as we passed the shire and vesper to minoc moongate,from there we entered the tunkuno yeller lands!
There i devised the group and soon we headed into combat!
Many wycth wolves and what seemed to be flying daemon tornado's or something attacked the raging defender moved us forward while conquering are enemies!
No one can stand the might of cove! Onwards we ploughed are way through the wycth fields of the magic foxes slaughtering them one after another Huzzah!

FOR THE BARON!  i called as i beheaded a wycth fox.
Thats how you get headless ones!
Anyhow we appeared at a mountain where a cave lead through to the other side we proceed quickly through the tunnel and appeared on the other side slaying all on the Isle we now turned are attention to the cry of the Oni quickly we rushed at it dodging fire balls and its huge claws as we got in close it was soon over the oni lay dead arrows in its chest cut,stab and slash wounds located all over it.
We returned to the barracks where i dismissed the men and gave them a share of the loot.

That eve i rallied what men i could at the barracks making sure i had a command member or a officer recruit Hoagie was the only one about at the time so he would do. Though hes a dirty dragoon
We marched towards Minoc moongate are destination was Trinsic the Paladin city.
We marched from the moongate after briefing them to keep there mouths shut unless I asked for there help or comment. We marched on Trinsic in an orderly fashion to the west gate where I halted the troops the trinsic guards seemed worried at first till I asked the guard captain to lead me to the duke after a short meeting with the duke we headed onto the discussion room bring the other covians with me and the Trinsic guards escorting the duke, arriving at the meeting room we were offered seat yet there was not one for me so I stood and made my claims of what I was here for.

Discussing several components of the trade and when what and how we would be purchasing and transporting the goods was developed, then I asked what trinsic would want in return after a long discussion from Officer cadet Hoagie we made notes of what we supply them with two hundred copper ingots from the covetous mountain and granite to repair there walls and food as port town we have a sea nearby.
After the discussion I apologized for some of the mens behavior and then took my leave back to cove with an order of the goods required.

Maybe this will lead to further friendship and trade between cove and trinsic!

This eve the caravan would leave to trinsic the good prepared the men ready not the best amount but good enough I’d been expecting an attack ever since the paper work was stolen and so it seems the traces went in several directions.

After much time preparing we marched to the Minoc moongate there we encountered a blockade that Vesperians and Havenites had made, after ordering the men to form and hiding the Caravan I ordered Hanse for his men to let us pass he refused and so I ordered the barricades destruction a battle raged arrows flying everywhere the covians stood strong while the scouts and myself took down several vesperians and Havenites,then we were flanked from behind still fighting the vesperians yewish forces attacked the rear destroying are ranks I managed to take down one or two but in the folly and heat of battle I lead two more that in the end retreated with there lives intact’.
Heading to vesper cross roads a stupid Vesperian chanting some utter rubbish,nearly killed him later on stupid pig.

After informing that the yewish would be patrolling here soon we headed for cove, I was ashamed of the defeat yet I had a cunning plan!
A friend told me once by land,by sea and by air! A boat we could sail to Trinsic Huzzah!
A few volunteers came Perrin got his boat from the harbor and off we sailed to Trinsic on the way numerous hostiles water elements and lizards tried to destroy are vessel still Covian swagger defeated them! FOR THE BARON!
As we arrived I saw the eastern isle of Trinsic a *Sigh* of Relief came to me and soon I new I would be off to deliver the goods, arriving at the dukes office after docking shortly before I greeted him and apologized for are lateness.
The goods were finally exchanged as we carried them into the storage rooms of the dukes guard force.

He then gave us are good which we so kindly took and finally headed to the stables for the noble steed they had bred for the Baron I made sure none had ridden it.
We returned to cove victorious again! We lost the battle but won another!

I presented the Baron with his fine new steed which he asked to place in his office’….

Apart from that I thanked my fellow guardsmen and headed off to draft the report.
