The main problem with describing Qom's background is, that he suffers from a strong amnesia which occured after a catastrophe which happened some years ago.

The oldest thing that he remember, is the feeling of extreme pain in back of his head which woke up him on the sea-shore. His head was bleeding some, but the pain was as if it was to explode in a while. When he had a look around himself, he noticed lots of debris, mostly wood, boards and some crates.
Some memories slowly returned to his mind.
He was onboard the ship, heading direction which he couldn't recall then, and is unable to recall it even now. Suddenly the storm approached. It was getting more and more strong, until the sailors were unable to control the ship at all. The storm was even more fierce, the wind blew more and more strong, finally breaking the mast into large pieces, which literally made holes to the hull of the ship like a bolt makes a hole in humans flesh. The fate of the ship was inevtiable. It began to sink like a rock, with hectolitres of water getting onto the board with each wave...  Then, a very strong memory hit his head - the look of a woman, young, and very pretty, fighting with the element to keep her onboard. She was completely wet, totally frightened, it was clear that she wont last much longer. Unkown for him, her face was so familiar, some thought, some feeling was telling him that she was someone more than just a fellow passenger.... Kath'er'eena! Her name slowly annouced itself to his memory... Now, who was she....

When he woke up again, he felt somewhat better. Walking through the debris, he saw some crates with some words painted on them: Do not open before end of the journey. Since his journey already ended, Qom opened the first crate. There were some small packages, wrapped in some fancy decorative paper, almost completely flooded with water. Upon opening one Qom saw a set of decorative cups, probably for coffee. There was a small piece of paper covered with writings, somewhat washed-out by water: To Kath'er'eena and Qom - may Gods bless your journey together. Signed: Paul Dure. The next package - rather big - appeared as a bolth of cloth, very good quality. A small note attached with some red string was saying: Best wishes to ye both! Live long, Kath'er'eena And Qom Riyadh - signed John and Emily Keats. Massive feeling of sorrow, pain and helplessness began to rise deep within his mind, as he began to understand who was Kath'er'eena... In the next package there was a pair of shoes for very young child, with a note: We hope that we won't have to wait for too long for owner of thise cute shoes... - signed Meina and Morpurgo Riyadh, your loving parents.
Qom fallen on his knees, with large tears falling from his eyes on the ground, his fingers digging the wet sand... Only a single word managed to leave his throat, with a long and painful shout: Whyyyyyy.....?!?!

Qom somehow managed to find a town... It was Haven. In the debris on the beach, nothing showed any value, because of drowning. All of those items, most of high quality and value, must have been left. That way Qom enterd Haven only with his shirt, pants, and some small items that he had found. Among them was a sliver necklace, witha delicate letter "K" hanging on it...

Since he can't remember anything, he couldn't tell who he really is, nor where from he does come. He began working as a lumberjack - the job was hard, but well paid, and helped him to relieve his anger and sadness. He cried alot these days. He was very keen on working with wood, so quickly advanced and became a carpenter, his skills raising quickly. After few years of this state, Qom met a persona named Lord Paidric, which helped him in many ways. Some day Qom asked Paidric about meaning of his life. What to do next, how to find his place in the world - those questions were unanswered for a long time for Qom Riyadh.

One day Paidric opened a moongate before Qom and told him that he will show Qom a place inhabited with some friendly people, which live their lives helping each other, hunting and overall keeping close together. Qom stepped into the moongate, and after a while was in some different location. Paidric said: This is the Baronship of Cove. I hope you'll find your place here... Ahh! I've asked someone to take care of you - this is mister Vince Valentine. He will lead you from now on. Farewell then, Qom! That's how Qom Riyadh came to Cove. Joined the society as a commoner, and quickly felt that this will be his new home - maybe to forget the past, but who knows - myabe to find who he really is...
