Title: Training Report
Post by: Delcarakdur on November 28, 2006, 08:27:03 pm
Kit Training:

When: The 28th of November at 1900 GMT
Where: Barracks Rooftop
Equipment: Standard Kit

Commanding Officer: Vince Valentine, Grenadier Sergeant
Guardsmen in attendance:
- Raiden Morana, Grenadier Corporal
- Mela, Scout Corporal
- Hoagie, Officer Cadet
- Tiberius, Senior Guardsman
- Maximus Dechain, Guardsman Recruit
- Curulhach, Guardsman Recruit

What:
This eve, Vince Valentine, the grenadier Sergeant hosted a basic kit training session on top of the Covian Barracks. Starting with a soldier's essential lifeguarding tools: the soldier's kit. Listing up all the basic kit a soldier is supposed to carry:

  • Bedroll
  • Light Source
  • Weapons and Armor
  • Uniform

He also generously showed us how you can make a tent-like -thing- with his "crusty" bedroll and halberd.

The "crusty" tent

Then it came to my turn to make something, so I merely made a slightly better shelter, by using two logs, my bedroll and a goat hide.

The shelter

The Recruit Maximus made some sort of trap, before the officer cadet proceeded to set his bedroll afire!

Holy Moly!

Finishing up by showing us how to make a fishing pole from a Halberd and Bandana, Vince insisted that it would serve as an extremely effective -survival- tool. Summing the training up as the "Five ways of the Bedroll", the Sergeant dismissed us.
