Title: Grenadier Trial: Jack Sinist Post by: Raiden Morana on January 24, 2007, 09:19:32 am *Raiden unclips the message and the crow flies away - He smiles to himself as he reads it*
So Jack, ye want ter join the Grenadiers eh?! Well lad you'll have ter earn those bronze arms... *nods to himself* You'll Nay get them given! TASK ONE Discipline seems to be slipping again in this grand army of ours. Bad to see, bad to see. I want you to lead two seperate parade drills and a training session in which you will work the men hard and instill some much needed discipline in the ranks. A Grenadier is the very example of discipline. Firm but fair Jack, firm but fair... Let's see what you can do. Conditions Normal rules apply for the Parade Drills. At least four other guardsmen must attend your training session. The training session must start off with a kit inspection and end with a free-for-all. Whether you concentrate on fitness, healing or combat training etc. is up to you. TASK TWO Leadership, the ability to stand your ground against any foe and of course the display of swagger in the face of overwhelming odds are all qualities that a Covian Grenadier must possess! Lead a Grenadier Brotherhood hunt and retrieve the jaw bone of a Balron in the name of the Baron. Conditions At least four Grenadiers/aspiring Grenadiers must join you on this hunt. TASK THREE For your third and final task, you'll be required to call upon your skills in the way of explosives. Aquire some kegs of explosive liquid from either the Sarge or myself and travel to Haven. Once there, plant these kegs in strategic locations around the area, before getting your team to a safe distance and detonating the explosives, bringing the vile place down! Head north west from the Haven portal and through the wooden stockade. Sneak past the cannoneers and into the forest. According to my intelligence, to the south west of the entrance there is a logging camp and if you follow the mountain northwards from there you'll find a cave where the Havenites mine for ore. Blow them to bits, make your way back to the stockade, burn it to the ground and get the heck out of there back through the portal and home. Conditions At least four other guardsmen must accompany you on this mission. It might be an idea to take at least one member of the Light Company along to scout the area for you. Also make sure your party has appropriate disguises to get past any guards. I want full reports including sketches posting below. Plus I also want you to attend at least one Grenadier Training session whilst working on yer trials so you can get a feel for the unit. Good luck Jack! *signed* Raiden, Grenadier Corporal. Title: Grenadier Trial: Parade Drill Post by: Jack Sinist (•̪●) on January 26, 2007, 11:52:11 pm Jack sat down at a desk filled with reports and old notes to begin writing his report.
He always enjoyed giving orders and forcing the subordinates to follow his every wink. Especially those ignorant recruits; what did they know. They would all die tomorrow anyway.. Jack smiled as he put his feather pen towards the paper and began to scribble. Power he thought to himself, he just need more power. Parade Drill Lead by myself Guardsmen in attendance: Grenadier Corporal Raiden Morana Officer Cadet Garak Nightshill Regular Dragoon Kurt Watchman Eve Watchman Max O'Munpain Recruit Faden Wildheart After awhile of staring at a female watchman and a sleeping recruit men started to show up. Which were a good thing, how would that look if I would have to cancel?! I started with informing the attending soldiers on why, and what a parade drill/parade was/is. It went with mixed success as half of the troops present had left their ears in bed. A certain guardsmen caught my attention and showed an extra promising attitude! Rank: Watchman Name: Max O'Munpain Promising, apart from the one time he stepped out of line that's a minor fault when it comes to ones ability, and from my point of view it was minor. (http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1373/outoflineit2.jpg)(http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/3025/interuptedci1.jpg) They were in general decent at order taking, answering questions and having an appropriate attitude. (http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/3454/questionansweredch1.jpg) After general questioning and exposing most of their incompetence I went ahead to give parade orders, such as face front, turn left etc. (http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/1540/nakkidjc4.jpg) A slow and unmotivated feeling ran through them once the orders ran over them like water in a maelstrom. It eventually went and once they got their orders right they were ordered to form a box formation, target an enemy (this time a recruit, not that he would make it through alive anyhow) etc. I ended it with them fighting whoever they were standing in front of. Again, Max O'Munpain was the victor. All in all, most did a generally accepted performance. Not said I would not like to increase the standards. Title: Re: Grenadier Trial: Parade Drill Post by: Jack Sinist (•̪●) on February 08, 2007, 11:59:58 pm [OOC] The following reports in this thread are given in person to the Grenadier Officers and not at public display unless noted otherwise. Any degrating remarks of women are purely IC and nothing I agree with in real life.[/OOC]
Jack snorted when he walked down to the library to sit himself down at a table and write the report of the poorly executed parade drill. Kelly he thought.. he didn't like females in the army. Yet he was intrigued.. This didn't go well. He need to pick up he thought to himself; perhaps he should try to steal his Uncles job right away instead.. Parade Drill Lead by myself Guardsmen in attendance: Regular Grenadier Gimbly Junior Conan Darkmoon Watchman Faden Wildheart (Any Guardsmen not added above did either not follow through with the parade and/or proved themselves a nuisance to my lineup and the Covian Army itself.) (http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9048/paradedrill2el6.png) Hardly had I seen a poorer attendance in my whole career of the Covian Army. I am aware of my shortance of time compared to many of the current Officers; however: If you saw what I saw today, I am positive you would agree. I found little or no reason to try to educate seasoned guardsmen in the way of parading. However I had an assignment that I had to finish and so I did. Noted must be the fact that regular Parade Drills needs to be implanted to keep the back straight and the eyes sharp towards whatever opponent we may face. With half of the line up looking like colics I tried my best to make them stand up straight: (http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/1953/paradedrill1sd2.png) Hay Sacks! With the drill barely started I got news of an hostile force approaching the barracks. However once the parade got itself together it was already to late as the apparent force was from Haven and not that much of a threat and quickly beaten back. The above listed Guardsmen did well. There were however others that did not: One of those were Kelly Sanderson. Her behaviour on my drill and her behavior in general is a disgrace to the Covian Army and sets an extremly bad example for both the Military and for whatever alien force that might look for weak spots in our ranks. This woman clearly stepped out of line and does not deserve or even should be apart of this military. Her missconduct took many faces but some were for example: *Stepping out of line *Speaking in a line up without permission *Failure to show respect to elder and over ranked officers *Failure to behave in a line up *Failure to speak to an higher ranked officer in an appropriate manner *Disrupting in an important Parade Drill *NOT asking for permission to walk out of the line up *NOT saluting leading or higher ranked officers *Acting like she was more important than an male Guardsman with even rank. *Proven many times to be some of an emotional wreck -- Like any female Guardsman. Just to name a few.. This female is making our ranks weak and are hampering our success. It is common knowledge that females are not fit for the Army and this is a grand example of it. I hereby suggest a termination of her Guardsman career and to put this female back to the citizenship where she belong. Jack Sinist, Junior Guardsman - Aspiring Grenadier Title: Re: Grenadier Trial: Jack Sinist Post by: Raiden Morana on February 09, 2007, 08:13:46 am Raiden sits back in his chair with a nip of rum in the Grenadier Halls and settled down to read Jack's report.
Haha! Putting the world to rights Jack... Good ter see, good ter see. He nods along as he reads further down. Then he chokes on his rum. After he had stopped spluttering he managed to add a quick note before venturing out into the cold towards the Scout Tower. A good start to your trials Jack! Keep it up! *signed* Raiden, Grenadier Corporal. Title: Re: Grenadier Trial: Jack Sinist Post by: Gimbly on February 09, 2007, 08:53:52 am *Looks over the report* Indeed a horrible turnout. Besides that well done Junior and better luck next time.
*reads the last lines and nods* Those things cant be tolerated or em army will turn into horde of undisciplined barbarians. Command punished other soldiers for less than that. Title: Re: Grenadier Trial: Jack Sinist Post by: userjosh5368 on February 09, 2007, 12:40:30 pm *Takes a file from the Grenadier file cabinet and reads the report*
Hrm not bad Jack your coming along nicely instead of being lazy *Smirks* much effort put in quite a bad turn out to perhaps do these thing's earlier more seem to be up at the time! Ah and yes Sanderson she does need some improvement in her attitude towards others but don't let it get you down ask Vince or her Sergeant to have a word. Though i would not except much for the incident not so long back apart from that all is good and keep up the hard work.
