He shivered a little and pulled his arms tightly about himself. Cove was lost, and to the Kaldorians, those he had come to despise over the past months. He muttered a curse under his breath before letting his thoughts drift to the past, that of the road. It looked more and more likley now that he would be walking it again sooner rather than later. Walking lonely again.
It was a shame, he had grown to like Cove, had even come to trust a few people enough to call friends. People that whos backs he would look out for and who would look out for his. The money wasnt too bad, even the uniform was bareble and providing a good measure of protection. He chuckled and absently swiped at some crusty patches of drying blood on his mail tunic. This wasnt to say he hadent made enemies and as for the motives of the Covian Command, bah they had got him nearly killed in distant skimished for no reason many a time! He sighed and clapped together his plate gloves as if to shock himself into some kind of desision. No. Something stirred inside him, a stubborn defiance. He steeled his featured and grimaced at the biting wind. No, it will be different this time. Cove was worth fighting for. Cove was his home...... |
