19  In Character Boards / Character Profiles / Obidah 'Lynch' Williamson on: July 28, 2007, 09:54:03 pm
Profile:

Obidah is an average built man; he's not overly tall, nor is he gluttoness. He is, however, rather muscular - this can be proven when in a scrap or when swinging his beloved mace.
His hair is rough, like his beard, which both share the same colour: A Black that's quickly turning Grey. Under his beard hides a scar; under his robe hides many more.

Clad in a Robe, complete with armour underneath, a hat covering his eye's and a mempo to mask his face. That is his 'bandit' suit. Otherwise he will wear normal peasent-like clothes.

He always wears his straw hat.

Obidah ‘Lynch’ Williamson’s history:

Age Eight:

Strong  gales blustered relentlessly from the North; the rain soon followed suite. The arrow like droplets of water smashed against the market stalls of Britain, and onto the people themselves.

“Bloody weather… Scaring away all my costumers” Mumbled one of the local farmers.

The streets soon ran with Britain’s people, overwhelming the already distraught guards.

“Please! Your majesty requires order; this is chaos!”  The Guard Captain cried out.

Riots soon emerged from the mob; fires broke out, people were stabbed.
In the crowd, a small child of eight, and a mother clinging to him desperately:
“Don’t worry Obidah, just hold on!” she shouted out to him, trying to clamber above the noise.
She hoisted Obidah into her arms and started to run.

She tripped.

Obidah never saw her again… But he could here her as she cried out for help. His mother, Josephine, was trampled under the feet of hundreds of beasts.

Obidah ran off into the distance.
Bent double, gasping for breath, he started to cry; he fell to floor…
“Mother…”
Those words uttered from his mouth countless times, until he drifted off to sleep where he fell.

                                                             ***

Obidah woke up several hours later (at least that’s what it seemed like to him) in a daze. He wandered aimlessly, looking for comfort.

“Oww, watch where yer goin’!” Squawked the boy, of around the same age as Obidah.

“I’m… I’m… sorry I jus’, I was…”

The boy in front of Obidah sighed heavily:
“Quit yer whinin’ ye twerp!”

Obidah bit his lip, wiped his tear stained eyes, then looked back to the boy.

“O… Okay.” Sniffled Obidah

“Good! So where did ye come from anyways? Yer all covered in mud, loik.”

Obidah looked down his torn shirt, to find the boy’s claim to be all too true.

“I didn’t even know it was ripped…”

“Yeah, well, now yer do. An’ ‘sides; I asked you a question! I’m the boss round dese ‘ere parts an’ ye do as I tell yer to do!” he exclaimed angrily.

“Well… I’m Obidah, an’ I came from Britain.” Obidah ushered reluctantly.

“Nice t’ meet yer ‘aqua instances’, Obidah” He grinned as he said it, offering his hand; Obidah shook it quickly.

“I’m Rex an’ this ‘ere is my town: COVE!” Rex blurted out eagerly.

Obidah stood there, soaking it in.
Cove?! He exclaimed in his head. That was a long way from home… But he had nothing back home now - Nothing.
He opened his mouth to speak; Rex had beaten him to it, though.

“Would yer like a job, Obidah?” Rex questioned him

Obidah pondered upon what kind of job, if any REAL job, a boy of around his age could possibly offer...
20  Command Boards / The Thieves' Council / Another day... another coin. on: July 27, 2007, 06:58:23 pm
[OOC: This information is to be considered Out of character. Only if Obidah tells you will you know.... also, its rather long!]

Obidah sprinted profusely through the Covian shire, then North to find the road; another day of robbing the Vesperians lay ahead of him. He could just as easily work the docks, for a more honest pay, but Obidah isn’t an honest man. He’s a man who’ll do anything for a few coins (as you’ll soon find).

“Blimey! Wha’ we got ‘ere then, eh?” Obidah laughed as he was greeted by the sight before him.

The sight was thus; a Covian guardsman shackled to the signpost at the Crossroads. And in front of it, a black clad man.

“Be on your way, citizen!” The dark figure snapped at Obidah.

Obidah smirked then pulled out a mace from under his robe.

“Hum, well ye see ‘ere I-..”

“PLEASE HELP!” The Covian cried as he came to.

Crack! The black figure cracked his fist against the Covian’s face, causing blood to shoot from his mouth.

“Now, ye listen to me eh…” The black    figure started “This is my business, so ye just noisy on off, hmm?!”

Obidah looked to the helpless Covian and smirked as he saw the colours of his uniform; an idea sparked off in his head.

“Well! I tell you what. Since I’m carrying this ‘ere mace, an’ I could whack ye face in, I suggest ye shut up and listen to me. Got that?”

Obidah waited for a reply to his statement, looking to the figure before him; the figure nodded in agreement, before  putting down his puny sword.

“Right, glad we cleared that up… Now here’s what I’m suggesting: whoever pays me the most, I’ll take their side ey?”

The Covian struggled to move, surely he couldn’t pay Obidah? Perhaps that’s what was running through his head when he asked the men the question, though.

The time drudged on; nothing.
Obidah raised his mace after a few seconds; he had grown impatient rather rapidly.

“Wait, wait! I’ll pay three hundred coins for you to leave and never speak of this to anyone.”

Obidah grinned wickedly beneath his mempo, nodding, in acceptance of the offer; he tipped his straw hat after he took the coins from the dark figure of a man.

“You see, the thing is… Never trust a Hat!” And at that point Obidah smashed his mace against the shackles, causing them to break instantaneously.

The man Obidah double crossed cursed him violently as he chased after him; the Covian headed the other way to the town for safety.

***

Panting from the previous chase, Obidah flung himself down onto the hard wooden floor of the Covian docks. He thought he’d lost the pursuer; he thought wrong.

“Oi, cunt! Wake up!” A gruff voice said, as Obidah was kicked in the sides.

Obidah looked up in horror as a knife dangled above his head; he’d gotten his comeuppance now.
“Look, its jus’ busy-…” Obidah stammered as his defence.

“Shut up! I don’t care what you have to say; you’re going to listen to me now. You cost me greatly just then, I don’t mean the gold!”

Obidah bit his lip, with the mempo still covering his face, looking up at the dangling knife. He opened his mouth to say something, but was cut short before he began.

“I’ll admit, I liked your ‘spunk’.” the figure said, pulling the knife back out of Obidah’s face/

“Uhh… Thanks”

“Look here, I could use a man of your” The figure stood pondering on the next word for sometime; “’talents’” he finally ended.
“I need ye to get another Covian Recruit and It’ll be worth your while; five thousand coins. I’ll give half now, half later.”

Obidah’s eyes lit up, and grew to the sun’s proportion; he licked his lips as he stumbled up.

“I’ll take it! I’ll do it!” He bellowed quickly.

The figure extended his hand. Obidah reached for it, shaking his hand with no hesitation what so ever; Coins were more important than the well being of Guardsmen by far.

***

“God, I’m lost…” A new Recruit mumbled. “Where the hell do I go?”

Obidah watched from a far as the confused Recruit waded through the leaves of the Shire.

“Hello there!” Obidah beamed out in a fake accent. “Lost are we?”

By this time, Obidah had used his brain for once, donning new clothes and a new way of speaking.

“Well, actually, sir, I am.” The Recruit replied bashfully.

“Not to worry, not worry at all! Come this way”

Of course, any other citizen familiar with these parts would have known north leads –away- from Cove. But this Recruit obviously wasn’t one of those citizens; perfect for Obidah’s money scheme.

“Are you sure this is the right way, citizen?” The Recruit questioned.

“Yes, yes! You’re the lost one, remember?” Obidah chuckled, in a fake manner.

After some brisk walking through the shire, along the roads eastwards, they came to the destination.

WHAM! The recruit was whacked over the head from behind by the figure, who was now clad in brown robes instead of black armour.

After a gentle nod they took their separate ways; the now brown clad man shackled up the Recruit, as Obidah headed south where he waited for the arrival of the money.

It came and went rather quickly. Obidah didn’t ask what he wanted with the Recruit, what did he care? He had his gold, he came out unscarred. He came out, in his eyes, better off.
For Obidah it was just:

21  Command Boards / Criminal Tasks / Pay time! on: July 27, 2007, 05:02:53 pm

You know, my mother said I should be a banker. It’s nice and safe she said. “Oh no Joe, you can’t be a guard! That is far too dangerous! YOU COULD DIE!”

Bah, mothers never know best! If I was a guard, at least then I’d have seen some action instead of filling out forms all day.

Where was I? Oh yes.

So! It was just a normal day I say but, while I was having my lunch hour, at that very moment something was going down.

*Somewhere on the mainland*

“Ye ready lads, eh? Asher will get ye through this yet!”

Obidah looked to Fenwick, nodding in agreement. They’d come too far to chicken out now; this was it, the great plan was about to unfold.

“Yer, we’re ready loike, les’ just go an’ do this thing eh?”

WOAH! Let’s stop right there! Just what are these clowns up to? Joe the Banker demands picture aids!

Ah-ha so that’s what they were saying when I was eating my banana, huh? Boy, if only I knew; I could have warned someone!

“Right, ye lads head into the portal, eh?”

Obidah, Asher, and Fenwick headed through the portal from the mainland, to Buccaneer’s Den.
They walked ever so slyly. Oh yes; you can walk sly with a keg. It’s surprisingly inconspicuous… Oh, wait, it’s not.

Wait just one minute! They killed my best friend?! Gah! Damn those cretins to the abyss!
Oh… You can continue with your story now, heh heh.

...

...

...

Oh! This is my part of the story again? I knew that! Pfft, give a guy break, eh?!

This is where we all met; in that bank at Buccaneers Den. O how I wish we didn’t but you can’t change things can you? If you can, tell me!

O dear, I’m rambling again. I’ll continue with the story now. Honest!

This is how I remember the next part going:

The rest is somewhat of a blast to me… Oh, wait, that’s because I died in the blast. Silly me! Damn those Hats. I’ll have my revenge yet!

Haven’t you quit your rambling yet, Joe?!

Oh shut up Mindy; it’s your fault we died!

It was not!

It doesn’t matter now! Let’s just tell the rest of the story.
So those little cretins got away with it, it seems. But I’ll tell you this, I saw that Asher pocket some scroll…I wonder what he’s going to do with that? Ah well, those bandits are too dumb to realise anything like that; they got their gold after all!

Oh will you shut up! No one here has Spirit speak anyway!

OooOooOoooOo?!
