All quiet around the shire, Recruit Kerri & Drachen sloped off mysteriously just as I was about to call a hunt. Nonetheless I rounded up Cadet Kelly and Recruit Xerad, and without hestitation set off for the shrine of Valor in search of a dragon.

Slaying numerous creatures along the way, including a Wyvern and a large floating eye, we came across the dragon's lair. Notching a bolt, Kelly grabbed it's attention as it turned around letting out a billowing roar.

Giving the order, Xerad charged forth at the beast wielding his sword heroically, dodging and weaving in and out between its legs, Poncho hacked and slashed at the fire-rumbling whilst from affar, myself and the Cadet notched bolts and drew arrows, constantly firing towards the neck and head of the dragon.

Soon enough, its large talon slammed Xerad into the ground knocking him out of play for some time. This however merely encouraged myself and the Cadet to fire faster, soon enough bringing the great beast to its side, falling out of the sky as we shot it down during an attempted escape.

Picking up Poncho, we decided to fight another so that Xerad could claim a victory - However we appeared to have scared them all off with our valor, and as such headed home.

Waking up in the barracks from a kip, my face was greeted by the howl of evening air, and the attention of Watchman Arrowsnap who suggested we go on a quick patrol. Initially suggesting the Orc Fort, I recommended Covetus, having just patrolled the Orc Fort to thin their numbers not a day ago.

Dodging pillars of fire that lit our way, we ventured to the end of the first level of Covetus, loading the Harpies we saw with arrows and bolts, skinning their hide and plucking their feathers for use with more shafts.

Due to the darkness, we experienced some friendly fire, but our amour served us well from each other.

Late night following the Orc Fort patrol, Recruit Drachen instructed us to line up, for the nearby Solen had over-stepped their boundaries, and as such we were to thin their numbers. If my memory serves me correctly:

• Slay 10 Solen Workers
• Slay 8 Solen Warriors
• Slay 2 Solen Queens
• Destroy the Hatchery

Setting off through the woodlands in Tracker formation we soon found the tunnel, and climbed on down into the Solen caves, starting straight away fending off against oncoming Solen. With each Hatchery we came across, the eggs were sliced, stabbed and skewered.

The acid sacs of the Warriors caused some hassle for the Sergeant and Watchman, but suffice to say we persevered to the Queen's layer, and slew those we found before forced marching out, finding ourselves in Yew - Though we went back the same way we came in, we had somehow ended up in Yew, and had to force march it all the way back to Cove, careful not to alert the Militia's attention.

Following a quiet night in the tavern, Cadet Valentine lined us up and suggested we do a local area patrol, with the suggestion of either the orcs or undead, we opted for the orcs and went ahead on our way, stalked by a slime, slash, elf mage who wouldn't stop pestering us.

At this point I requested that I be allowed to lead the patrol as a demonstration of my leadership abilities. Thankfully, Kelly cautiously agreed.

Proceeding on the the Orc Fort, our formation was kept tight and the healing was impecable. With our manpower we could only feasably make it three-quarters the way into the fort without alerting the brute's attention down by the docks. Our arms were kept busy however fending off bombs being hurled at us.

Despite this, not one casualty was sustained, and we arrived back at the Barracks with 7180 Gold.

Following the sucessful Sentry duty, Watchman Hayden had a small training prepared for the Recruits, and Guardsmen alike.

From what I recall, she went over numbering and sounding off, parade manouvers, hold and ready arms commands as well as battle formations.

A lesson well learnt by most, the training ended with an optional training in sparring...

Having woke up to see a number of Guardsmen standing around, Sergeant Hoagie bellowed from the stairs of the barracks for us all to line up. Allocating builders and gatherers, we were tasked to "build a sentry, Nay, a CASTLE!" infront of the Barracks...

Though some recruits seemed to be rather clueless as towards how this was done, I was quick to take initiative in setting them straight, demonstrating how a sentry -should- be built..

As soon as the darkness struck I ordered everyone to draw their light sources.

Despite a few scouts knocking about in robes, resulting in them getting shot, nothing out of the ordinary to report.

Having just finished sentry duty, I walked back to the barracks to find Guardsman Stint and Sergeant Hoagie entralled in conversation with a bemused Arel between the two.

Taking initiative I recommended an early morning patrol through the woodlands. Though Stint disappeared, those of us left continued under the swiftfoot of myself. Not much to report other than all safe and sound.
