As I recall as well, the words were directed at Declan O'Connor and not at Smith either. His underlings are the ones that should be kept on a short leash to prevent such matters from arising in the future.

Kiran,

As the promotion I was promised to Comrade has not yet gone through, it will be difficult to just grab a suit of armour from the Vesperian armoury. Especially in these tense times. However, I shall have one procured to you by tomorrow eve at the latest with any luck, along with a spellbook.

Signed,

Jierdan.

Brother Maccen,

Times such as these are glorious and full of splendor. I have information about the wench Elaine which might prove useful for your Initiation. I have shadowed her for a few weeks now, I know where the woman resides. Her home in Vesper is not patrolled by Vesperian guards, and there is an easy escape route through the woods next to her abode.

She is a skilled alchemist and poisons her blades, but her fighting prowess is dubious. She also carries with her a babe at most times, and when she is not, it is being cared for by her cousin "Emma" whom works in the Swaggers Inn. I would be honoured if you would allow me to accompany you in your endeavour Brother. In order to truly hurt someone, I have found that the most effective way is by harming the offspring.  Do not hesitate to seek me out should you wish any Aid in this matter.

Citizens of the Avatar! Heed these written words!

Too long as the vermin known as ALIRYL TREFNWYD spread lies and incited unrest within our fair city! She has proceeded to slander the name of a righteous and long standing soldier, known as "Chaffers" whom you all know! What has Cove come to when an elven female can discredit a good Avatarian man like our dear "Chaffers"?! Surely this guardian spawn has overstepped her boundaries this time brothers and sisters of the Church! We call upon thee all to chastise this vermin as every word that escapes her forked tongue spreads with it lies and more deciet! Chastise every Elf you see! This city has become breeding ground for Guardian scum! How long before they undermine the authority of our Beloved Church with their vast numbers and violent ways?!

Stand up against this new Elven Scourge and let Cove remain a solid bastion of the Avatar once more!

Father,

As I was just released from the most foul and damp cells, with only the thought of the Avatar in his divine countenance to keep me warm, I assure you, all the lies and slander put forward against me are baseless.  I only just recieved this task. I have some information on the woman in question that might be deemed heretical in your unwavering wisdom. Many weeks ago, when I was not the most pious man, she offered to do a palm reading on myself. I naturally refused, but surely palm reading is a Wytch's tool and ploy to stray men away from the Avatar. This is all the information that I have upon the woman, except that she is also of the gypsy tribes, long rumoured to deal in wytchery and other foul arts.
May the Avatar forever bless thee, Father.

Your servant,
Kadere

*Faint knock on a old rotten door

"Do come in dear" a deep voice replied inside the room.

As she entered the dimly lit room her face constricted into disgust as smells of urine, sweat, and other foul odours reached her nostrils. Sitting across the small room sat a man with his legs crossed, a single candle by the table next to him was the only light present. Squinting her eyes to get a better look at her..customer she managed to maintain a straight face and spoke the words,

"Hello handsome! I heard you wanted some company for the evening?"

"Do have a seat on the bed", the man answered coldly.

The young girl did as was asked and knew that this would not be a pleasant encounter as she quickly decided that this man in front of her was of the more kinky and depraved customers. As she sat down on the old mattress, the man spoke again.

"What is your name child?"

"What do you want it to be?!" she answered with professional lightness.

"Your name...." the voice insisted once more.

"Anna-Marie", the girl answered nervously and silently.

"Lovely name...yes...lovely..." the man said as he stood up and paced over to the bed beside her.

As he sat next to the young girl, she finally managed to get a better look at him, and her eyes could not mask the disgust and revolt of what or who was sitting beside her.

"What stories have you heard o' the Darkness child? Some call it the Void. Where no lies are told, only truths."

The young girl giggled nervously and could only manage a shrug as she looked at him uneasily.

The man smiled coldly and leaned in to whisper into her ear,
"You are about to experience true freedom from all the constraints of this world child, are you ready?"

The girl took this as her cue and began to undress in front of the man, whom only looked on without expression or any real desire in his eyes.

That night in the brothel of Britain, the screams and cries of that young girl were heard throughout the night, though this was deemed not necessarily unheard of given the strange customers that frequented that particular establishment.

What was found strange was when the girl was found the next day. Her eyes had been removed, and so had all of her fingers and tongue. Her breasts had been savagely bitten, and savage cuts were found all over her body. She sat there rocking back and forth on the stool, sobbing without eyes and mouthing without words, breaking into frantic feverish screams whenever someone approached or touched her. On the walls of the room, a bloody message was written upon the walls over the girl in the stool. "We Have Shown Her the Way, Rejoice".

Of the man, nobody knew much of him, except that he peddled occasionally through Britain selling some wares, and was not seen again in Britain.

Dear child,

I hope this note finds you in a more relaxed state than that of last night. If you do not wish your little secret to be spilled to the Church and the Baliff, then you will meet me in secret to discuss your little predicament and precarious situation. Failure to meet with me will result in unnecessary hardship for all involved....see you soon my Sweet. I shall be Watching.

Brother,

I have successefully extracted Three Hundred and Twenty shillings from Anna Jones, and another One Hundred and Fifty from Edward Striker whom owns the Goblin. The other women I have yet to encounter, but people seem anxious to pay their taxes to me so it shan't be a problem.

14  Command Boards / Thieves' Den / Re: Kindling the Baronial Court. on: September 12, 2009, 02:39:07 pm
Upon reading the proposal, I too find it a grand idea. I have had my men scour Vesper for a suitable bride, but sadly, the gene pool in Vesper seems to have been tainted. It therefore leads me to conclude that the bride must be found in either Cove or Yew...or perhaps even better, find a woman on the street and..mould her to suit our purposes? Surely a few weeks of etiquette training and language usage isn't beyond our capabilities. First, we must learn of the Barons tastes in women. As I have seen, he does not enjoy the company of forceful women, so someone demure and submissive will be our goal. Start the hunt for the bride Brothers and Sisters,

Kiran,

As I am unable to show my face in Cove due to our past feud, I am sending you an associate of mine from my days in Jhelom. His name is Hadnan Kadere and should be on his way within a few days. He will be my eyes and ears in Cove, and I am sure that he will boost our efforts in taxing Cove and fighting Smith and Co. I would suggest you use him in any way you deem fit, and he will follow your orders whilst in Cove.  He will be wearing a plain brass ring on his middle finger to identify himself. Although, I am sure once you see him there will be little doubt in your head whom it is.... Enjoy!
