Plague outbreak in Yew. Possible Spread to Trinsic

When: 23.11.2010 at 2100 hours.
Where: Cove,

Commanding Officer: Regular Grenadier Delcarakdur
Guardsmen in attendance:
- Guardsman Recruit Fritz
- Civilian Mizuho (Pronounciation uncertain)

To Commander Torrak, for your eyes only.

This evening I started the day off by patrolling the Covian lands, and late at night I thought it fitting to spend my evening at the Goblin. Ordering a meal off the barmaid, one Mizuho, and I had just finished eating when a pigeon flew in with a message from Sergio Jarret.

There was supposed to be an archery contest in Trinsic, so I asked the barmaid if she wanted to come along and watch, as I assumed the contest would be peaceful and there being no other guests in at the Goblin and with the streets apparently deserted, this would seem like the courtuous thing to do.

Travelling by the new Coven moongate, we arrived in Trinsic, first checking the area near the Trinsic Rose: It proved to be completely empty apart from just a single barmaid. Bidding our farwell, we head back towards the moongate, and all of a sudden a fresh recruit showed himself (I later learned his name was Fritz). Both he and the barmaid suggested that since the last contest had been held in Yew, we should head to yew to investigate. After some back and forth we couldn't find it and decided to head back to Cove via Stonekeep.

Upon arriving in Yew, we were greeted by a a barricade at the Tavern North of Stonekeep and was immidiatly urged by what looked to be a senior Besieger to come inside. We were quickly informed of a plague that were affecting Stonekeep. This plague caused people infected with it to show flu-like symptoms, and after a couple of days an extremely agressive behaviour to exhibit itself. We were shortly after attacked by what would mostly remind us of "living" Zombies. I immidiatly pledged myself and the recruit to the yewlanders service.

After repelling the initial assaults, and gathering wood for a barricade, the recruit and I went towards the Emerald Coast to scout along with another three yewish soldiers, what looked like a large volcanic eruption in the distance from stonekeep. At the Emerald coast a huge crater filled with many bodies was found, along with eirie howling to be heard from the center of it. Deciding to head back and report our findings to the commanding yewlander, we found that Stonekeep had been attacked, and our brave lass disappeared. Apparently she had chanted words of power and vanished according to the yewish guardsmen.

Beating back more of these now zombielike people, we finally appeared to have driven them off. Tending to the wounded a large dispute on the origins of the injury of one "Leo" nearly resulted a fight between the Yewlanders. After restoring order and making sure the wounded were tended for me and recruit Fritz headed back to Cove to rest up.

On another note, I highly reccomend running a drill and discipline cadre as soon as possible. Discipline seems to be sorely lacking, especially when fighting. I volunteer willingly for this task if you will find me worthy.

Disturbing news indeed, Grenadier, but it seems you've returned with excellent timing. No doubt the discipline of the troops has wavered as a result of the Grenadiers' conspicuous absence as of late. Feel free to take whatever measures you feel are necessary to restore order in the ranks. As for Yew, it may worth it to have yourself and the Recruit examined by a healer. Just thank Avatar the plague hasn't spread east yet.

Torrak: As far as I'm concerned, though, EA is just unauthorized modding BoC.
