I'd rallied what men were about at the barracks in hopes o' heading out somewhere special, but as they gathered up I found two of 'em either weren't in proper armour, or had lost all o' their gear. As none o' us had the key to the stores, we were treadin' water.

So I ordered everyone t'strip down to kilts n' sashes. We were gonna take the orc fort with nay much more than sticks n' swagger.

The group held together pretty well from start t'finish, as we stormed on in through the front gates and were swamped with orcs o' all types n' ranks. A foreign feller in orange armour helpfully drew a few o' them big brutes on us so's we didn't hafta go lookin' for 'em. With those taken care of, we proceeded to clear each part o' the fort, leavin' no-where without a heap o' green bodies.

The outcome:

Six brutes downed.
14,000gp taken t'the coffers. Watchman Whalebiter donated her share o' 3,600.
Bandagin' fingers got a fair bit o' practise.

Quick sail through the harbour and across to the bogs. Cleared the place of all manner of slimes big and small, ratfolk, lizardfolk, and the usual carnivorous plants.

About 5000gp gathered for the coffers.

The place what they call the 'Wisp Dungeon' has for itself a fearsome reputation as a home t' all sorts o' dark wytchery, a place mighty arcanists o' old abandoned for fear o' the Guardian's legions... a reputation well-deserved.

Mind, we got ourselves somethin' of a reputation, too...

We cut our path from the gate at Honesty to the caverns' north entrance, findin' ourselves descendin' into a maze lit with the blue light o' the wisps there. Weren't so peaceful as we came to the next level, where the undead and dark wytches lay in wait for us... distractions we dealt with quickly before pressin' on downwards.

When we came at last t'the banquet hall o' the demon itself, we found 'im nay alone, but with lich-lords and golden, one-eyed giants, who all set 'pon us at once in a rage. 'Twere a terrible sight and we nearly fell-- beatin' a hasty retreat to the safety o' the halls, where we caught our breath & regrouped.

From there it was mechanical, takin' down each beast one-by-one, the golden giants first, the undead wytches, the two-headed lackeys wot came beside 'em. When we'd cleared our way, we sorted ourselves into the Arkay Formation, with myself, Watchman Cor'Vani, and Junior Buttons formin' a tough outer-wall for the others to shoot from. Senior Feather lured the demon our way, and in a heartbeat he was on us, screamin' an' hurlin' himself up against our shield-wall in a rage.

T'were only a matter o' time before he fell.


Acquired: Golden tooth of a balron lord.
              Assorted other demonic & undead body parts.
