Journeyman Tasks!

Greetings! The Arkay Archery Guild has been growing steadily. There are now a score of Novices who should be foaming at the bit to ascend into the ranks of the Journeyman.

AA Journeymen are archers who've shown proficiency in the game. They make up the bulk of the members and are well respected for their ability though there is still room for improvement. Should they be able to remedy those small flaws they will be awarded the coveted title of Master!

Journeymen in the Arkay Archery Guild are widely respected and already posses knowledge of a wide variety of archery related subjects. To prove your proficiency you can choose one of the following tasks. Please take into account that the manner in which you complete the assignment is as vital as the result. You will be judged on effort invested, roleplaying ability and quality of report.

1. Guild Archery Games

The Arkay Archery Guild is starting to establish it's reputation. We're already advancing nicely in our abilities and our devotion to the Way of the Archer. To demonstrate our abilities, to draw other archers to our cause and to have a general jolly good time I want you to host an elaborate Archery Tournament called: The Guild Archery Games, or GAG!

First of all, you'll need to come up with a few archery related games to base the tournament around. Then, you'll need to send around personal invitations to the different towns and groups around the lands. The location must be well decorated and provide enough food, beverages and entertainment for both the archers and the spectators.

The person completing this mission with excellence, will have proven his initiative and leadership abilities. You'll have shown you have what it takes to become a journeyman and are well underway to become the first Grandmaster of the Guild!

Goals:

  • Devise a series of Archery Games
  • Send out invitations, or better visit people to invite them!
  • Make sure the site is properly decorated and entertained by citizens
  • Host the very first Guild Archery Games event!

[OOC: As you know, all AA Guild tasks are all about the RP. Some of the games may be entirely RP based! Try to make it visually attractive so that the spectators enjoy themselves as well.]

2. Merit Badge: Treatise on Arrows and Bolts

We can never have enough Merit Badges I say! Write out a complete Merit Badge session that handles on the many differences between arrows and bolts. Go through the different types and how to make and maintain them.

Merit Badges are serious business and generally only done by Masters. You will perform a try-out of the Merit Badge with at least one Master and then hold a Merit Class for the members.

The person completing this mission with excellence, will have proven his initiative and creative abilities. You'll have shown you have what it takes to become a journeyman and are well underway to become the first Grandmaster of the Guild!

Goals:

  • Create Merit Badge teaching material (Report)
  • Hold Merit Class try-out
  • Hold Merit Class for the AA Guild!

[OOC: As you know, all AA Guild tasks are all about the RP. Try to make the class as interactive and interesting for attendees as possible. But above all, make them fun!]

3. Merit Badge: Advanced hunting techniques

An archer must also be a proficient hunter! Arrow and bow have since long been the preferred weapon of gamehunters. But it takes more then a good aim to become a good hunter! Come up with e new Merit Class on advanced hunting techniques. Your topics should include, but not be limited too: Tracking, Identifying good prey, Lethal wounds on game, skinning the game and cooking the game.

4. Merit Badge: Survival techniques for Archers

An archer is a force to be reconned with but is quite vulnerable in close combat. Devise a Merit Class on different techniques an archer can use to survive close quarter combat. The Merit Class should at least contain the following subjects: Using your crossbow as a club, wrestling and open-handed combat, potions, petals and special foods!

  • Hold Merit Class for the AA Guild!

[OOC: As you know, all AA Guild tasks are all about the RP. Try to make the class as interactive and interesting for attendees as possible. But above all, make them fun!]

5. Host first AA Meeting!

The Arkay Archery Guild is to hold regular meetings. During these meetings we shall discuss general problems and matters for the guild. We'll also handle any questions or requests from members and generally have a jolly good time. You will arrange for a suitable meeting venue, provide lavish food, beverages and even some entertainment for the members.

The person completing this mission with excellence, will have proven his initiative and leadership abilities. You'll have shown you have what it takes to become a journeyman and are well underway to become the first Grandmaster of the Guild!

Goals:

  • Arrange for a fully decorated meeting-site
  • Contact citizens to provide food, beverages and entertainment
  • At least six AA Guildmembers will attend

[OOC: As you know, all AA Guild tasks are all about the RP. This is tasks test your skills for organising more then those as a RP archer. Make sure the meetings are fun and entertaining so people stay interested in them!]

6. Host Citizen and Guardsmen basic Archery class

The Arkay Archery Guild is home of the elite! We do however realise that the general populace and guardsmanship will benefit from some basic understanding of archery. Devise a general populace basic archery training teaching them the basics of archery.

The person completing this mission with excellence, will have proven his initiative and creative abilities. You'll have shown you have what it takes to become a journeyman and are well underway to become the first Grandmaster of the Guild!
