(COMPLETE) Grenadier Trials ~ Regular Guardsman Marcus Kobra

Kobra, eh? We was Watchmen t'gethar, har! Good man. E'll be a good 'ddition to 'em Grenadiers.

Trial 1 ~ Discipline

~ Lead a field training in a dungeon of your choice, teaching those in attendance the importance of following orders and crosshealing as you progress through the Dungeon.
~ At least 3 other Guardsmen must be in attendance.
~ You must gather at least 10,000 gold in the process.

Trial 2 ~ Brotherhood

~ Seek out one or more current Grenadiers and have them teach you the basics of paired combat.
~ Along with this Grenadier, seek out an Ogre Lord and, working together, slay it.

Trial 3 ~ Loyalty

~ Seek out a Skeletal Dragon and slay it, taking its fang as a trophy for the Baron.
~ At least 3 other Guardsmen must accompany you.
~ Gather at least 5,000 gold in the process.

I fulfilled task one by leading a small band of men and women in to the Dungeon Despise. I once trained there as a recruit and watchman. . . . things are much easier these days so it seems! Training cross healing wasn't going to work on the upper floors so I lead the men into the belly of the dungeon towards the ogre lords! Their hits are might heavy but save one man slipping. . .  constantly. . . . in the copious amounts of blood. The expedition did fine. We mopped the floor with them and the men all showed grand healing skills!

We killed dozens of the Lords and brought back just over 13K In Crowns!!
It was another Covian Victory!

What: Slay a Bone Dragon

We set out to Sacrifice moongate in Ilshenar to track down a Skeletal Dragon. Bandits and rat men tried to stop us be we are Cove, nothing can stop Cove!
We entered the beasts lair, a flesh burning sweltering hot place, we could feel our balls boiling in our armour! Dripping with sweat and ignoring any discomfort we slowly advanced on the beast. It roared a deafening roar that shook the foundations of the earth but we where not daunted! We engaged the beast in mortal combat eventually being forced the skirmish it! He fell as do any that oppose Cove but soon his kin where upon us! Minutes dragged by like hours as we sustained the beating. In the end three of their kind would lay dead and not a Covians blood would stain the floor! Har! And we collected 28 thousand for the coffers to boot!

Demarian, Rita, Ruby, Kelban, and Dave all donated 4 thousand to the coffers each.

Another grand Covian victory!

Finding the Sergeant all not busy (Even though Grenadiers are always busy) and ensuring he was ready (They are also always ready - for anything!) I led him off to ice, I decided the climate would be more to his liking and such. He then told me what paired combat was and why it was designed. No longer could armies swamp each other as mass blobs and hope to survive! Many smaller blobs where needed! One man concentrating on ONE other man was more simple than one man worrying about a dozen or so peoples! In this manner soldiers could watch over each other more effectively. We put that to the test as we slaughtered many an Ogre Lord! their cold hides no match for Covian steel and bolt. It also appears that the Sergeant carries near a dozen weapons! Hes a walking armoury, its no wonder he hasn't bankrupted us - AGAIN!

That task finished we decided to give em rat men a smashing, the Sergeant and I. . . outnumbered a hundred to one. . . where beat back. We then called for backup and that's when Junior whalebiter and Kelban appeared! We then pushed into the heart of their domain and slew the lot of them, Ratmen, Ratwomen, and Ratling died at out hands in a squeaky ruckus until only silence remained! Sloshing through the steaming blood we made our way out and back to Cove.
