1  Guardsman Boards / Light Company Board / Vesperian Navy Intelligence on: August 19, 2018, 12:26:07 pm
Sirs/Ma'ams,

I have conducted a brief survey of the Vesperian navy. They are rebuilding at an alarming rate. They already have several functional looking galleons, almost all armed with several cannons.

I urge haste in dealing with this threat.

Detailed Mapping over Despise dungeon, first floor.

Air:

The air is thinner and colder. Its a lot easier to breath in the upper floor of Despise.

POI (Points of interest):

One: Big Spider web, though there isn't any spiders with much blood and bones.

Two: A collection of crates and barrels. All locked.

Three: A row of beds with hay as a pillow as well as a cooking pot with many rusted pans around. There was also a storage corner.

Four: An ankh in the middle of the dungeon. It felt very peaceful when I approached it.

Five: A huge web with a cocoon caught in although no spiders were present.

Six: Flowers growing, means the ground in despise is fertile.

Seven: A large pile of bloodied bones.

Eight: A safe area with a fire, water and beds. Monsters do crawl into there but a barricade could stop them.

Nine: Collection of crates and barrels. The barrels are empty and the crates locked.

Ten & Eleven: An ankh which has a switch. When you flick the switch you are teleported to another ankh in another area of the dungeon. The other ankh is yellow.

Twelve: Small area with cooking stuff including a fire. Also had two beds and a pile of logs.

Thirteen: Large square hillish type things which are symetrical on each side. Very steep.

Fourteen: Stone walls with hanging decoratings and statues.

Traps:

Fire - No
Bladed - No
Darts - No
Swinging blade - No
Poison - No

Inhabitants:

Possibly miners,
Lizardmen,
Traces of spiders but didn't see any.

Plants:

Flowers.

Detailed Mapping over Covetus dungeon, second floor.

POI (Points of interest):

Point one: A strange black phantom at the entrance to the dungeon. It was hovering above a skeleton, and it made no move to harm me when it was approached.

Point two: There was a wandering healer waiting at the entrance to the next cave. He was wandering back and forth, clearly bored out of his mind.

Point three: Someone had abandoned some trousers. There was no blood, and no signs of struggle. I dubbed them the "pants of interest".

Point four: There were a collection of chests and crates in a corner. We tried to pry them open to no avail. There is no clue as to what's inside.

Point five: A lone cauldron stood in the middle of a band of harpies. As far as I know, harpies are unable to use such things. Perhaps the area used to be inhabited by people?

Point six: Three cocoons were stuck to the wall, each suspiciously human shaped. We were unable to cut them over, and lost two daggers in the effort.

Point seven: A gigantic spiders web was hanging from the ceiling. We had to keep our distance to avoid getting stuck, and I hesitate to see the spider that could string such a web.

Point eight: A large pool of water near the gazer's lair. It was impossible to tell how deep it was. It could be the entrance to large underwater caverns.

Monsters in the dungeon:

  • Harpies
  • Gazers
  • Elder Gazers
  • Corpsers
  • Headless Ones
  • Dread Spiders
  • Water Elementals

Traps present in the dungeon:

  • Spikes - Yes
  • Blades - Yes
  • Poison - Yes
  • Darts - No
  • Fire - Yes

Air:

The air in here was thicker than that in the earlier parts of the dungeon. Breathing is difficult, and it's hard not to cough.

Safe places:

The only relatively safe place was where the spiders took their food for storage. Sadly, it's impossible to tell when it will suddenly become crawling with spiders, so it is not a reliable safe haven.
