In attendance:
Sergio Jarrett Regular Scout (leading)
Abigail Keres Junior Arcanist
Aleri Briggs Junior Guardsman
Steve Jack Guardsman Recruit

Since Aleri couldn't get enough people for another one of his boot camps, people were obviously catching on to him scheduling them right after parade, I decided a recruitment stall was in order.  I gathered the people and told them we'd need banners a table and a stool, along with each of them should have a copy of the recruitment flyer.  After a long mess we finally went to New Haven.  Upon arrival we found it to be infested with gargoyles and people who talked in strange ways and asking for random magical crap.

Some we thought might have promise but didn't seem interested and the more they talked the more we realized they weren't right for cove.  We eventually packed up and headed for Luna on the off chance people then weren't playing at being statues or casting heretical spells over and over and over.  This is where briggs showed his "expertly crafted" recruitment lines and expertise at attracting people.

We did find at the end of our day recruiting a Woman who came to Luna for a memorial of some sort that we handed a flyer to and she was on her way, but other than that one instance the recruitment mission wasn't very successful.

We quickly headed back to Cove where I dismissed them to do as they pleased.

63  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Baying Successful! on: August 07, 2011, 12:30:32 am
After thinking over plans to pull this off I finally thought up a plan do get Kado to bay himself it would require Cunning, Finesse, Tact, and Kado to have the thinking capacity of a five year old child. I ran into Kado and put my plan into action, it started with me telling him about fake conversations and rumors about how he couldn't swim because he wasn't manly enough and ended with me down right saying I didn't believe him when he said he could. It ended badly and in failure when I couldn't get him do do that I quickly had to think up another plan.

I quickly remember his weakness for women and decided to employ my cousins help she was to seduce him into the water and steal his armor and lay out a uniform, of course according to her that plan didn't go smoothly and I've gotten the details of what actually went down from her.

After trying to talk him into the water didn't work she moved on to drugging him to sleep and getting help from what I can only assume was Abigail Keres according to her description.

According to her she then cut off his armor only to realize he was naked, it was at this point in the recollection she demanded Five more silver for her services and that I never ask her to do something like that again. She then dragged the covian uniform I'd given to her to replace his armor to the shore and proceeded to roll Kado into the bay, After which shee assured me he woke up immediately.

Upon waking up She had to tell him a series of lies because he was evidently overly aggressive including that a cougar had mauled him while he was drunk and that he'd signed back up for the army, apparently my cousin Is a first class liar because he bought being mauled by a cougar. Though according to the recollection he ran off without any armor or clothing in a cougar hide yelling he wasn't in the army.

I have found out the cost of Baying Kado is 15 Silver that I'll never see again, and that I should never ask my Cousin to do anything because she's greedy.

64  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Orc in Haven on: July 27, 2011, 06:19:33 pm
On my way to check Haven for possible recruits, I ran into a lone orc on the road into Haven demanding "shinies".  I said no and told the orc to get out of my way and I'd let them leave alive a far more generous offer than they deserved.  The orc then said something that sounded like "Haven is an Orc Fort". After a while it became clear to the stupid creature they weren't getting money from me and they got into a weak battle stance, So I decided I'd have to get rid of the orc, I drew my axe and the fight began with an orcish charge, After sending the orc on the run twice it finally fell.

I decided to let the orc limp away instead of going through the hassle of beheading it, hopefully it will relay the messege that there not welcome in Haven.

In ilshenar there is a volcano that has a lot of valuable resources in it the crux is the machines around the volcano aren't to friendly, That's where you watchmen come in you're to take out these machines and the gargoyles making them to secure the volcano for later excavation.  You can get there through the tunnel near the honor moongate.

    ~ Kill 5 Exodus overseers
~ Write something interesting to go along with it you can expand the duty to places around the area.
~ To be completed with a group of two or more

This duty may be completed by watchmen
This duty may only be completed once per character

Note: If you strike the gears with steel make sure you don't break your weapon

I remember the time I walked through the desert for half a week and came upon all sorts of sandstorms only to realize a day later they were sand vortexes, your job is to head to the desert of compassion and kill five of these things, oh and bring back some gold for the coffers and while you're at it you might as well beat down the scorpion infestation.

   ~ Kill 5 Sand Vortexes
   ~ Collect 10,000 Gold
~ Must be done in a group of two or more

This task may be completed by Guardsmen Recruits
This task may be completed once per character

Note: If you get poisoned or die we wont come looking for you.

I've remembered how horribly boring the recruit and watchman tasks could be so I figured I'd pin up something that may suit the tastes of the more adventurous watchmen, All you have to do is run through Shame and find and kill a kraken...oh and place a banner there too you can never place enough banners.

~ Kill a Kraken on the second level of shame.
~ Place a banner outside shame before entering.
~ To be done in a group of two or more.

This task may be completed by Guardsman recruits and Watchmen
This task may only be completed once per character

Note: I heard Kraken taste like chicken

71  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Research in Vesper on: July 20, 2011, 09:40:18 pm
My study led me back to before coves independence from Vesper so I decided I'd have to go to there library and check there files but with the disarray of vesper and the complete absence of any type of order,While making it easy to access any information I'd need would make it dangerous to be there, I decided I'd need a disguise, I went to a tailor picked out a relatively cheap healers robe and sandals for clothing and put on my disguise altering my face, I then decided I'd approach from the moongate instead of cove to further keep away my identity.

I made haste towards the Library before I aroused any suspicion, the library was in disuse and there was only one man there and he was a bit out of it carrying drinks because apparently even the libraries in Vesper are Bars, I quickly found some material that proved to be promising but not enough.  For all the disarray in Vesper there library system seemed to be in the perfect order of function.

After I'd been there for hours I'd run out of materials that I could reach without assistance and was forced to ask for help.  I quickly had to give a reason to cover up to the odd man, I finally settled on Logging operations and after getting a strange look the man pointed me towards where I could find a ladder.

It had reached darkness and I'd still not found all that I'd been looking for so I decided to spend the night there instead of risking running into someone coming back, I fell asleep in the large cold room my scoutish vigilance while asleep only matched by Hrothgars while awake.  In the lumpy chair I dreamed of the barracks' lumpy beds.

In the morning I finished my research and gathered the notes I'd written just as the man was getting back. I quickly thanked him and made my leave before he could ask any questions.

I've found out enough that I know exactly what I need to do next but due to the sensitivity of the conclusion I can't put it in this report.

In Attendance:
Ilyana Arcanist Corporal
Kas Valentine Senior Arcanist
Nicholi Ravnthorn Regular Guardsman
Sergio Jarrett Regular Scout
Aleri Briggs Junior Guardsman
Thomas Aylmer Junior Arcanist
Cal'ain Cui'gnir Watchman
Nethaellas Guarsman Recruit

While in line that the Commander called we were told of a patrol gone bad and that he wouldn't be leading us as he had things to do, So Corporal Ilyana took the line and after hearing there was an arcanist among them was determined to save them, this brought up the question of if there were an arcanist why didn't they just magic themselves out.  The arcanists response was they probably ran out of herbs. After the mild debate settled down we were off to covetous.

We traversed through the mountain caves fairly fast with very little incident until we got to the catacombs.  We started by checking the abandon rooms at the entrance of the ancient church, we were confronted by vast amounts of liches which never seemed to die there dust reforming back into there boney structure of everlasting undeath.

It wasn't long before we entered the old shrine to find A regular arcanist chained in the room unconscious.  Upon waking her up she began to spout screams about things that weren't there and started thrashing about wildly, when she calmed down Kas and Nicholi stayed there while the rest of us looked for the others.

We made our way through the old cathedral hall to the stairs leading down into another cave along the way seeing evidence of death and empty encampments.

We came back to see that Aylmer had joined Kas and Nicholi and they had somehow managed to light the whole room and themselves on fire, I'd guess an arcanist malfunction.  We then decided to get the arcanist out of there before anything worse happened.

Upon getting back We quickly carried her into the barracks and put her in a bed to examine her, only then did she start speaking semi clearly she admitted that she was the one who killed the others and broke down sobbing, She had cuts on her torso she didn't let anyone treat and an arcane circle drawn in what looked to be blood on her forehead.  She insisted we put her in the cells even though she was going to die without medical attention.  As we couldn't get close enough to her wounds to do anything we took her down to the cells.

It was then that Corporal Ilyana decided that since she would die anyway that she'd kill her fast.  Ilyana then pulled out a knife and attempted to slit the arcanist throat to kill her, unfortunately loss of blood from the neck isn't as fast as many people think so I took the knife and finished it before the woman was in anymore pain.  After the Woman was death Ilyana burned the body on the spot for reasons I don't understand as we could have done it outside and not messed up the cell.

During this whole ordeal the Arcanist said a few things that were never answered that I feel I should look into, I'll report my findings as I come about them and hopefully figure out what this is all about, and what is Valefar.

Syvirosy Jaquen Guardsman Recruit
Cal'ain Cui'gnir Watchman
Abigail Keres Junior Arcanist (half way through)

Since there hadn't been a cadre in month and there's been a recent influx of recruits I decided the need was apparent.  Unfortunately most of the new recruits are lazy Gits and didn't come.  I started with a few parade orders to see what they all knew and was surprised to find out they all knew the orders and one even knew when to go.

After explaining the purposes of parade drills I went over Kits, explaining things they should have and why. After a few inquiries about the merits of arcanists carrying bandages we got over it and moved on. to potions and the like.  I explained the purpose of each potion quickly but in a way that got the point across.

After going through kit I explained battle orders mostly how to get into formation as I'd been at it for awhile and could see the recruits getting antsy.

After everything I felt I had missed something so upon consulting Keres I realized I hadn't done armor inspection.  The main reason I hadn't was because it's about the most hypocritical thing I've ever done, but all the recruits armor was in working order along with Keres brand new armor, not sure how the army had the budget to get her new armor, after the inspection I dismissed the line.
