Thievery in Cove...

Walking up his front steps, Perrin reached out to open his door only to find it locked tightly. He could not recall locking it earlier that day and immediately peered in the window searching for something out of place. All appeared to be as he'd left it.

Digging his keys from his pack, he fumbled with them for a moment until finally finding to correct one. With a solid click, the lock gave way and the heavy oak door swung inwards. Perrin cautiously walked into the dark room, one hand resting easily on the haft of the mace hanging from his belt. The room was still, save for a  tendril of smoke lazily drifting from an extinguished candle on his writing table. Upon closing the door he could hear the lock fall back into place on it's own with a clunk. He would have to have that fixed, If someone were to enter and close the door they would not be able to exit without the keys...

Placing his money pouch and keys on the bookshelf, he continued upstairs. As he climbed the staircase, he failed to notice the unusual shadow crouching beneath his table. After inspecting his living quarters with a critial eye, he returned downstairs to begin writing his reports of the days activities. Sitting down at his writing table, his view settled on the bookshelf...

"...Now where did I put my coins...?"

Just letting folks know that my computer is most likely near death. Lots of random crashes, refusing to boot up, all sorts of trouble in the last month. Until I manage to end this plague of problems, I won't be on very often.   Sad

Good luck in game everyone! Hope to see you all soon on a more regular basis.

After the joint training between Vesper and Cove, Hoagie and I headed for the gates of Cove to set up a sentry. Our intent was to watch the area and make sure no critters got past the gates. After setting up the barricade we took a peek inside the gate and found a surprise waiting for us! Elementals are apparently quite daft by nature; no less than five of them had become stuck inside the battlements. Unslinging our crossbows we proceeded to lay waste to them. With the last one felled, we snuck into the battlements and stealthily retrieved the large amount of shadow iron ore left behind.

The enemies loss has become our gain!

Your house has officially collapsed as of two minutes ago. Luckily no scavengers showed up for the IDOC, so I was able to secure all of your belongings. I have them stashed away in my home awaiting your return!

A Covian Wolfhound....?

After hearing reports of banditry in the area, I gathered up some guardsmen for a sentry. We headed over to the edge of town, and began setting up between the Goblin tavern and the townhall.

While gathering lumber, a guardsman was attacked by a shadowy figure. On our toes, we watched the surrounding area carefully. A stranger on horseback approached our watch soon after. She was visiting the area and was curious about our fortification.

The shadowy figure attacked us many times throughout the night. We were struck with darts and small sharp metal objects on multiple occasions. Several times we gave chase, but the fellow always managed to slip away. With a new morning upon us, we began packing up and tearing down. Not long after we were approached by Kal, turns out the crafty scout was behind the attacks! His intent was to keep us awake and alert throughout the night, a feat well accomplished!

Strange happenings in Moonglow!

Word reached my ear yesterday about some strange business in Moonglow. Deciding to investigate the matter, I set off to see what I could find. Upon entering the gates of Moonglow I asked the nearest fellow if anything out of the ordinary was taking place. He directed me to the park where I found a large number of armed folk milling about near a dark moongate. I couldn't get a straight story out of anyone, so I decided to take a peek through the gate. On the other side was an exact copy of the town! Winged creatures, shambling flesh beings, demons, wisps, and several other foul critters were doing battle with many well armed and provisioned citizens. I joined the fray and quickly found that several Covians were already engaged in the battle. With many wounded quickly piling up under the onslaught of the nameless enemy, we set up a makeshift healing station near the dark gate. A steady flow of injured fighters passed through our care and rejoined the battle. After awhile the number of fighters dwindled and most of the remainder made a tactical retreat. Being thoroughly exhausted myself, I retired for the evening.

During the battle, many donations were made to the Covian healing unit. The total  came to 30,000 gold coins and ten locked chests pilfered from the enemy.

We headed out on a quick patrol to Altmere and back. The walk to Altmere was unusually quiet, but on our return to Cove we ran into an Ogre and a Troll. Hardly a match for a pair of guadsmen!

All in all, a quiet evening in the shire!

With a few guardsman gathered up, we set to constructing and manning a sentry at the barracks. As guardsman slowly filtered in from around town, we soon had a very crowded fortification.

The sentry ended without incident, another peaceful evening in Cove.

If anyone is looking to place a house in town, there's a spot right behind the barracks that's big enough for a three story 9x14.

After some sparring practice on the roof, we set off for a quick patrol of Cove. We walked around town, checking the old lighthouse, bank, and the town walls. Not a single orc or undead to be found!

With Justice in the lead our stalwart group headed for the shrine of Humility in Ishenar. We were on the lookout for a few rare ingredients required for cooking an exotic delight known as "chocolate". The jungle was eerily quiet when we first arrived, but the local creatures soon came out in droves to greet us. Snakes and lizards of all shapes and sizes crashed through the brush at our small group!

The most vicious of the creatures, those with golden hides, were our first targets. We swept back and forth through the dense forest several times, felling more foes each time.

After several brief but bloody skirmishes we managed to collect all the ingredients needed. With the supplies stashed in our packs we ran like sissies made a tactical withdrawal. After regrouping and accounting for all of our guardsmen, we made our way back home.

Once back at the barracks we were in for a pleasant surprise! The Baron himself was there to greet us! An excellent end to a successful Hunt!
