1  OOC Boards / OOC Board / Re: Good Bye on: November 03, 2009, 04:39:15 am
Well its nice you all seem to care but, its not just one incident. Its not just one guild or one person. I've simply realized this is not for me, I love the RP and I would say you've got the better quality RP on this shard and game but its obviously not for me. Good bye.

It obvious that comming back to UO pay shards and MMO's in general was a futile idea. So good bye, I'll go back to single player and pen and ink. Hope you all have fun.

Well it seems I'm oddly suited for this sort of work. The years of various occupation forces in Minoc taught me to be quiete if I wanted to live and how to hide if I'd rather not be conscripted. So with a touch of resignation I'd like to work towards being admited into the Light Infantry Division.

I would like to state that I am no murderer, but information, that I can gain ye.

4  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Training Session with Mr. Kal on: October 02, 2009, 02:22:27 am
Leading: Kal Shadowhand, Officer Cadet

Attending:
Louis Calvera, Watchman
Hayden Shepard, Recruit
Star Summers, Recruit
Heather, Recruit
Yella, Recruit
Kelly Sanderson, SGT

Mr Kal started the training session off with Five Laps and then some question and answer. He was trying to see what order we knew and what they where for, such as Tracker Line: Where we all form a single file line so as to hide our true numbers from our enemies. Scatter: to disperse and cause the enemy t osplit allowing for them to be brought down more easily. Form: To rally scattered squads and allow for easyer healing - Similar to "The Arkay Maneuver."

After the question and answer came a practical lesson as he called orders such as faccing movments. Anyone who has ever seen an army march can do these! I think I did rather well with the parade orders. Face left: The formation turns to their left. Face Front: The formation faces towards the leader.

We also went over how you should greet superiors, and an equipment check. He told us about keeping our armour and weapons in good repair and about how we should have no less than 300 bandages at all times. He told us to have a kit including: Light source, bed roll, and other tools.

We closed up with some healing drills in which we learned I really know nothing about bandages, and that pain hurts. Also did an attack and defend drill. . . . take out the mages and archers first! Sadly I too am an archer. With that over with he pointed out what went right and wrong then dismissed us. The other watchmen and recruits went for a brawl whilst I took off to write this report.

One last thing: LISTEN TO ORDER, NOT WHAT YOU THINK!

Well Me and an Elf Recruit named Corvani set out into the caves of Avarice for a small hunt. Strange places, these cave. I have always hatted caves. . . .  got bats, and spiders, and this one was worse! It had harpies, lots of em! But harpies got feathers. . . .  Killed many birdies! Though I wish I could shoot better in the dark. . .  The elf made fires, he was some sorta wytch. . .  I thought they burned them. .  .  elves and wytches. . . . guess what my mother taught me was not quite correct. Well that was a long time ago, maybe things changed I guess. . .  Well after much battling and running my arrows down to nothing, we left with just over 1,400 Feathers and five thousands coins.  Tidy work I say!

So finding myself bored as all em soldiers went off to bed, I set about collecting a few items of value. I first hefted my axe and set out for some logs. Choppin trees is nay hard work for a man whose been making his own arrows since he was nine! Harhar! Felled a dozen trees before I had enough quality wood but I got the job done. Forest be damned with those bats that atacked me. . . .  They was huge. . . HUGE I tell you, Like this! *An obviously exagerated sketch of a bat is draw with large fangs and sinister eyes*

Anyway. . .

I lugged all the wood back to the bank for safe keeping whilst I set out to aquire a pickaxe. . .  Wouldn't ye know Covians don't mine, not a Pick to be found for miles! MILES!!! I was forced to trot off into minoc in order to find the requisit tool. After a quick lesson in technique since I've never swung one of these, despite living in a town surrounded by huge mountains. I set into the Avarice mountains to crack out my materials. Turns out its alot like working a hoe whilst tending the farm. After a few hours of work I managed to get a sizable pile of mineral laden rocks about me. The work was rough, and the laod was heavy but I got it back into town and over to a forge. Forges. . grand invention. . . but whens someone going to invent a belows that works on its own. . . or better one that will blow on me whilst I work. Cripes these things are hot. . .and smelting. . . slow like molases. After a billion hours at the forge I finally got what I needed plus a few extras.  Now I just have to find me an officer with a back strong enough to carry all this crap!

Name: Cadeyrn Drest
Age: Looks to be in his 20's
Eyes: Grey
Hair: Blond
Race: Human
Height: 5'9 & 1/2"

Cadeyrn was born In Minoc, grew up in Minoc, and most likely would have lived and died there. Through growing up he has seen war and battle befall his people numerous times. Everytime seemingly diffrent factions wanted control of the fair city. Yet with constant war about them it became rather a part of existence. The mines still buzzed with activity as did the forges and the looms and even the farms. The farm even where he grew up tilling fields and chasing off vermin. Hes father Morcant Drest and mother Imrail raised him Avatarian and instiled the fear of Wytch and many other fel beasts in his heart. Therefore, he remained at home tilling the field and never ventured far. On his 8Th birthday he was given his first bow for shooting game and poachers come to pilfer their beets and potatoes. Over the years his aimgot slightly truer but with no real targets to hit he has more of a sporting chance than anything else. The wars passed and he avoided them, mostly through the fact Minoc had no standing militia or army, not even a constabulary. Time and again though Covians would stand with their backs to the doorsteps of Minocians as the hordes of mad men swarmed about the fences. These men had no debt to Minoc and never asked for reward as they departed. He remembered it keenly from his silent perch amongst the trees or fro ma stack of boxes and crates, hidding was a way of life for some in Minoc, a means of staying out of harms way. That was years ago, now the accords had come and passed and still Minoc lay in the grip of feuding factions. The reds where come up the road with notions of "West Vesper" and the like. Having no militia to fight for but remembering the tan and darkly clad men of Cove, Cadeyrn finally set out to do something to defend his home and drive back the red menace.
