Guardsmen that attended: Erik Arkay, Kal Shadowhand, Kas Valentine, Vince Valentine, Constantius, Althalus.

Led by: Judas Deibeau.

We were called to rally outside the barracks as guardsman Judas had an important matter for us to investigate.

He had been handed a scripture which told him the location of great wealth buried somewhere in the deserts of the land they call Malas. So we set off via the moongates to Malas, skirted the town of Umbra and marched into the unforgiving desert.

Almost at once our brave leader took advantage of the heat and began to peel off his armour. However it was soon back on again when the beasts of the sandstorms decided to try and deter our party from venturing any further into the boiling wasteland. The beast and the partial nudity were quickly dealt with and we continued on our journey towards riches.

After passing through the camp that was discovered by previous Covian explorers (which featured a rather confusing campfire) we found what the scripture had spoken of.....

The Pyramid !

But how would we get in...? The guardsmen spread out and began searching the nooks and crannies for a means to reach the top of the sculpture. Soon enough a route was discovered and the Covians huffed and puffed their way up until they stood right at the top with Umbra but a speck in the distance.

At the top was a hole, a deep and dark one at that, the Covians stuck to official hole proceedure and pushed recruit Constantius inside. Instantly sounds of battle were heard and the rest of the group eased themselves into the murky opening (albeit reluctantly).

Inside the dark Pyramid the guardsmen waged a constant war with legions of Undead which seemed to ooze from every dark corner. Strike them down and they were soon replaced by two more. But on the Covians fought, Judas gave the call to follow close behind him and keep a sharp eye for anything with a golden twinkle.

Further and further down they fought until at last they reached what seemed to be the basement. Glancing around Judas refered to his scripture and pointed towards a large beast that was watching them from the other side of the room.

"The scripture says we must strike through it's heart in order to uncover the riches! Forward lads, at that thing!"

The creature did not appreciate the Covians attempts to strike through it's heart and a furious battle ensued. The guardsmen received countless wounds and Senior Scout Althalus was knocked to the floor by the creatures fury. But in the end, it fell, just like all enemies of the town in the mountains......mighty Cove !

Sure enough the great creature had been guarding a huge pile of shimmering coins, a bed had been made from them in the corner. They were swiftly gathered up and the guardsmen reformed in the center of the room. Yet again the leagues of Undead began to swarm forwards, and  the blades of the Covians swung once more.

The battle was reaching a fever pitch with the Undead backing the guardsmen towards a crumbling wall. It seemed that they would never get out of the plague ridden Pyramid, they had come in through a hole in the celing, so how would they ever get out...?

Suddenly the wall Vince had been backing himself against caved in to reveal the rays of the sun which would very soon be rising, along with the heat of the desert.

Judas yelled: "Everyone outside quickly, Kas, summon a gate back to the barracks and make it quick!"

"Right away sir" replied the mage and the gathered party, though tired, piled through the magical opening and back home to Cove.

The gold was gathered and sent off to the Baronship coffers, Judas thanked the assembled men for a superior performance and they were dismissed.

The Sphynx was defeated and the Pyramid resealed ! Another victory for glorious Cove !
